Any chance the Magic make a play for Steph?

I don't know how it works out with salaries, but with Jameer Nelson getting hurt is there a chance the Magic become players in attempting to deal for Stephon Marbury? It is clear they will be looking for PG help, likely to come in the form of a guy like Raymond Felton or Earl Watson, but I still think that it could be possible they'd take a look at Steph. Thoughts?

The only way they go for steph is after we buy him out. 95 % not even then but they can't go for a trade. That's not hapening 100% unless they give up howard or lewis + another 4-6 mill player. LOOOOOOL

I think it can be done. The question is do the orlando magic want to give up some of their youung players for steph? Reddick and ariza would be good additions to our team. We get an athletic defender and a three point specialist.

Dude - You must be in a time warp, Ariza plays for the Lakers. Marburys contract is untradeable but the Magic have said they are now looking for a PG so if they can come to an agreement to pay him say $3M, Marbury would be in a better position to get his buyout from Walsh by offering the $3M back to the Knicks. If I were Steph I would on the phone with the Magic yesterday.

So I looked at the salaries and noticed that there really is no way for the Magic to trade for Steph. All their contracts are very manageable which shows me a) how bad Steph's contract is, b) how poorly our contracts have been handled in comparison to the league and c) all of the above.

This doesn't mean Orlando isn't a player in the Steph game though, if Steph draws considerable serious interest in Orlando, he may accept less of a buyout.

who cares? this is a knick forum, not an orlando magic one. Theres better, more interesting, and much more positive things to talk about with the way the team has been playing

Nelson could be done for the year now...We might be able to lure them into some kind of trade...Maybe ditching Nate...

Steph is untradable. 21 million is just too much to get rid of.

If there's an interested party for one of our players, I am...

Magic just acquired Lue from the Bucks.

Magic don't have any contracts to match for Steph... so the only way he ends up in Orlando is after he gets bought out (which seems wont happen until the second week of March to prevent him from being on a playoff roster).
