Pretty good. Too bad we won't be able to watch him in the NBA for another 2 years. Thanks Kahn...you douchebag.

Damn - he looked nice in that game...he was everywhere, doing what it took to win!

It would have been nice to see him in D'Antoni's system...
O well

You're Darko Video is fantastic. I love his reaction, and he looks the same height as Mutombo.

He wears "Ricky" on the back of his jersery instead of "Rubio" because there is another "Rubio" on the team. I would like to see what he does against NBA competition because that Great Britain team sucked. They played no D on him and let him have wide open looks.

Really, dude it looks like the defense is standing still watching him run around in circles. lol. Hes not going to do that against NBA talent, your talking about teams that the CAVS, Lakers, Nuggets, Magic, Celtics would beat by 50.
every starting pg in the nba would put up numbers like that playing for that team.
Im sorry, Im not sold on Rubio until I actually see him play a season in the NBA.
until then

Meh. Smh. and next thread.

Exactly: GB has a perennial third rate international team: they're never in the Olympics, world games, or any other big international tournament. This is the first time I've actually seen them play in Eurobasket.

British people don't cultivate basketball in their kids. Instead, they work on the soccer/cricket skills. I mean, Randolph Morris scored 15 a game in the British basketball pro league: says it all, IMO.

Like D said, these guys are flat-footed and lack skill comparable to NBA players. Until he proves himself against NBA players, he gets no respect, except from the naive.

you gotta be kidding me with that.
First of all I was never negative
and I never called any one out
I was speaking in terms of who Rubio was competing against, your response was truly ridiculous; Im sorry your having a bad day, crack a beer, smoke a bowl but settle down on the remarks.
I just refuse to get excited about a player who has not played against NBA talent on a regular basis, I dont believe I am in the minority on that point either, most would agree that it is a positivist approach , not negative when I say I wont assess him until he plays a year in the NBA, I never said he is sure to suck, just that I got excited when I clicked on the thread only to watch Rubio run through a bunch of stuck trees for 4 minutes.

I really like what the commentators say about his shots per game is 3 and they say in order for him to improve his shoot he needs to shoot it 1,000 times. They also say that if he's just passing the ball that he isn't doing his job out since he's not keeping the defense honest.

As far as what people on the board are saying, my take is that this kid can play with anybody. It would take him a couple of years to adjust to the NBA and get his body ready to compete at a high level. Rubio's IQ is the charts and his passing is dead on reminding me of Steve Nash. He will be great when he finally comes overseas.

Allow me to settle the argument Fellas

Solid outing. I mean like it has been said by some already, the comp. isnt comparable to NBA talent, but how many times have we gotten amped off a Summer League performance? And even a lower level Euro League team is better than the NBA Summer League.

So...it was a good performance that showed why there is so much intrigue in him, but does not solidify him as a NBA star (how many 20 yr. rookies are?).

But for sure would be an upgrade over any PG we have had since the late 90's

that's fine.we now great britain is ass cause they don't have deng and gordon.all i did was post a video of rubio's most recent game.

what else is there to talk about? all the dead air in knicksland? its just a video about a guy who may, or may not be on our radar, that is all.there's no need to be a preacher about the "ills" of "the rubio".

I am a native NY’er born and raised in <st1:city><st1>Manhattan</st1></st1:city>. Played HS level ball in the early 70’s. We had the best team in <st1>Harlem</st1>, NYC (took Rucker League in 3 divisions in 1972) and competed for the North East championship in Philly. 2 guys made the pros from that team.

BTW, I wonder how many of you critics out there have played competitively. Growing up in <st1>Harlem</st1>, it was often do-or-die. My rep and sometimes my life depended on it. And yes I still ball at 53 yrs old.

Please note it takes a TEAM to win at any level. The current roster of the Knicks has the talent. Desire, cooperation and dedication are items in question.

If you have waited as long as I have for a real competitive team then stop berating our players. As a unit this current roster can definitely thrive. WE HAVE THE PIECES.

Let’s give them and each other a fair chance.

Ricky has great talent but IS NOT READY FOR NBA PRIMETIME. I've played against pros before. He would need a couple years IMO

Great commentary

Hey Crazy8s, I'm laughing with ya. I ain't all that...just want to see some real enthusiasm from us true Knick fans instead of in-fighting all the time.

Idk how to feel about Rubio but many people bashing Kahn need to realize 4 other teams passed on Rubio meaning that Kahn had to pick him because he had gotten lucky Rubio fell that far so its out of default I mean everyone had him at going 3rd behind Thabeet. If you were Kahn and Rubio falls to your 5th pick you can't skip him because you risk him turning out to be great and you also havethe sixth pick so you risk having to skip him twice.

those teams passed on him for the most part because of the buy out issue.kahn is by no means a genius.

What makes Kahn so stupid is after picking Rubio, he picks Flynn with the 6th pick. Why draft 2 PG's that can't play together?
