Shot!?

SG/SF paintball game, but I play football more. Use to play LB/SS in the Simi-pros (Brooklyn Chargers) and earned a shot to tryout for the Jets practice squad. I never went because I was shot in the left arm the following week over some unrelated jealousy BS. Them damn crabs in the barrel...

WTF? You got shot? Cheese and rice, that's mental! Were you awarded any sympathy fellatio? Should have been. You need an avatar, BTW. Perhaps your mangled arm!?

You're almost exactly the same size as me, dude. 6'2 - 200. 200 give or take, I'm 91kgs, so rough enough. You play PF at that size? Damn. I played 2 guard my entire life, and @ 6'2 was rarely over sized. I thought you'd have some beast size players in the US with that enormous population.

Hah, I live in Canada... :smokin:

I dunno I'm undersized for a PF but i get loads of boards and led my league in blocks. I was playing at like 260-270lbs but lost a lot of weight recently (down to 225-ish) With a low center of gravity I was able to stay on my feet and use positioning skills to box out the bigger guys. Lots of over the back fouls drawn. Deceptively quick feet and hands made me valuable on defense, but my offensive output hasn't materialized on the team I was playing with. Trying out with a new team this fall.

I play PF or C in league, but really I can play SF if they needed me to because I'll cut and slash, I'll drain the mid range, I'll swat the shots for you.

But I haven't been in game shape since 2001, so my production has been limited in the last few seasons. My last season was by far my best, because it coincided with me starting to lift the weights, and I benefited a lot from that, I was able to set picks now and grab more boards, and more difficult to move from my spot, but now I am today much further along and I am planning my comeback to the B-League in Winter, 2012. By then I should be in beastly shape and I expect to drop:

14 points, grab 6 boards, shoot maybe 50%, 65% from free throws, and I will swat AT least 2 shots.

This is going to be the 45 MJ double nickel season.

Oh and I had a stress fracture in the last season I played, that's why I had to cut it short, but I was dropping something like 5 points, 4 boards, maybe 0.8 swats per game, but I was playing solid D, so that's why NOW, with the game shape, I'm gonna be a revelation in league.

I'm trying to be like the Jeremy Lin of the B League.

pg but, im more of a specialist. im a pesky defender, the outcome is usually a steal or to. offensively, im a half court guy shake n'bake usually penetrate8====D and dish. i got a nasty floater too. but, i love playing like a bully and set picks for the shooters. i even post up and back them up like shaq. mostly streetball.

these days i just box and bjj.

a long time ago and the Doc doesn't want to take the slug out either. But everythings good thou and all forms of sympathy was well appreciated:thumbsup:, I don't know what Avatar to use just yet. tbh, I didn't even give much thought to a user name. I just thought of "RNYB" on the spot because at the time of me joining I was witnessing a bunch of whinning about Lebrons decision, many non Knicks fans, and people bashing NY. It was a spirit of the moment decision. I just never really gave it much thought until recently.

i played pg for a cyo league up in long island. i tried to be a pass first type pg and averaged 6 assists. scoring wise i like to drive the lane get to the line, if not im capable of step back jumpers and fades, or hitting the open three.

my averages this year were

10ppg
6apg
3rpg
1 spg
2 turnovers

not to bad :peace:

I played yesterday as a 3/4 (ala. Melo style) on a team that we are putting together for 2 different leagues this year. We competed against the defending champs of the division above us in a scrimmage/friendly and were in the lead until the end of the game.

We lost 11-9 but it was a good showing for us to compete at that level against a team that's been together for over 8 years. I've lost some weight over the summer and my defense is definitely much better for it, especially on the perimeter. I shut down their SF on the perimeter and held my own against their 4 in the block. But the league MVP is their 2 guard and he took over after I came off the floor.

I only took 3 shots but I hit them all. I also caught their PG sleeping on me at the top of the key and blew past him to set up an easy assist. I wasn't really keeping track but if I remember correctly: 3/3 fg, 1 block, 2 steals, 3 or 4 assists, and like 5 or 6 reb. I'm excited for this upcoming season!

We play the same position on the floor and I must say, after losing 8-10 lbs, I noticed that my foot speed has been much quicker too. I think the weight loss helped me keep up with the faster forwards. But, I seem to be having a harder time boxing out for rebounds. lol

i was a big man in school and destroyed kids because i had post moves before anyone knew how to defend them....then i stopped growing and had to learn how to ball handle more and develop a jump shot....now i would consider myself an undersized forward....i play a lot like Melo...like my share of high and low post, elbow jumpers are my bread and butter...love the pull up jumper i nail it most of the time on fast breaks...i have good court vision but poor handles like Melo lol

Def a SF

I remember this one fat guy from the park back in the 1990s, he had this crazy baby hook that was unstoppable, but this guy was a bum but:

1. the baby hook from the corner was impossible to guard

2. it always went in

I think that guy is someone we can all look up to.

BTW, it seems I'm the shortest one on this board.

Nope. 5' 6 3/4" (And I do insist on the extra 3/4). Everyone seems like nasty ballers here. I have handles and can dish pretty well but sometimes I make crap decisions and turn the ball over. My mid range isn't bad but could be better and my 3 point range is inconsistent. Used to drive in a lot and pass out because it's hard to finish when everyone is 3+ inches taller than you. Hurt my knee and haven't played too much ball since so mostly lifting to get my legs stronger now. My goal is to one day touch rim.
