The owners & players did not want to take this to court....
both parties wasted 4 months depending on STERN to reach a
conclusion with the next party.

He's not a neutral mediator. He works for the owners.

he works for the owners... yes he is advising the owners... but its NOT his $$$ on the line ... he takes the owners message and delivers it the the players....

Not really, if the entire negotiation process was up to the owners they would have never moved above 47% of the BRI for the players. David Stern is kind of advisor for the owners, but I guess he also cares about the players' business, at least a bit.

see that hunter is 'hoping' the judge next week instructs both parties to get back to the table... i'm not so sure it will be that quick..

EPSN source: the owners are willing to make some more concessions and there is an once-again-revised offer for the players, however, if this proposal was rejected the NBA will consider canceling the entire 2011/12 season.
