Knicks pick up Douglas team option

Toney Douglas has lost his starting job, but he apparently hasn't lost his job on the Knicks.

The team picked up Douglas' contract option for next season on Wednesday, the deadline for the team to do so.

Douglas, 25, lost his starting point guard job to rookie Iman Shumpert seven games into the season. He's scoring 8.7 points per game this year, down from 10.6 last year.

Douglas is still fourth on the team through Tuesday with 10 shots a game but is shooting just 33%.

No surprise there. If anything, he's an asset for future deals.
