KnicksWillRiseAgain
Superstar
Ok so this is part 1 of a new series im doing where we will explore realistic options what we can do with the contract of a Mr.Amare Stoudemire. Not saying he should be traded, not saying any of these deals will happen. This is all "What if" scenarios here.
Now, what if we needed to move Amare, he didn't gell with us, Phil Jackson doesnt want him here, He said "its me or Melo", whatever its hypothetical.
Where would we send him? what would we want in return? What would we need in return? Lets explore.
The Golden State Warriors are an up and coming team. They have a young talented PG in Stephen Curry, Valuable draft picks, a double double machine in David Lee, a scoring combo guard in Monta Ellis, a young 3 point specialist in Klay Thompson, and a pretty decent bench.
You may be thinking "Then why would they want to blow uo their team for an aging Power Forward with Knee problems KnicksWillRiseAgain?!?! You dumbass!!!". Look guys once again all hypothetical but if the Warriors were to make a trade it would be for a star they can team with Stephen Curry. David Lee is nice, but Amare could really take them to the next level.
So my idea is this: we send them Amare and Toney Douglas, they send us Monta Ellis, and David Lee. giving us a lineup of
PG: Monta Ellis
SG: Iman Shumpert
SF: Carmelo Anthony
PF: David Lee
C: Tyson Chandler
Now you guys are thinking "WOAH hold on there Monta is a ball hog and David Lee plays no defense!". While Monta may have a bit of a reputation as a ball hog, he has shown he can put up 20 points and 8 assists if he puts his mind to it, and under a no nonsense coach like Phil Jackson or Mike Woodson, I think he would be pushed in that direction. As far as David Lee goes, Tyson Chandler would cover up for his D and allow him to focus on rebounding and scoring.
As for the Warriors this gives them an amazing pick and roll threat, and a core of Amare and Stephen Curry to build around. The Pick and roll will also make Klay Thompson and Dorrel Wright better scorers with all the open 3s they will be getting from all the defense the P&R draws. This gives Golden State a line-up of
Stephen Curry
Klay Thompson
Dorrel Wright
Amare Stoudemire
Andris Biedrens
The Knicks come out with 2 scoring threats, Improved spacing, improved rebounding, and they can always flip Monta and Tyson Chandler for a star like Dwight Howard.
The Warriors come out with an All Star PF and young PG combo to build around, and become a younger version of the Suns, and are a few little pieces away from becoming a playoff team.
