I gave this thread 1 star because the original poster should have put the NY Liberty as a poll option.

Lol thanks for your intellectual input....do remember that Gilbert Arenas and Rashard Lewis were traded, both guys useless and costed over 20 mil a year. If they can get traded, Amare can.

:? Traded for each other, a deal that got both teams nowhere. The Daily News wrote that Dolan may be willing to trade Amare because last year he hurt his back doing a trick dunk in the Celtics series and this year hurting his hand but that he'll be difficult to trade because of his huge uninsured contract.

Amar'e is not even a top 50 player now, is at the twilight of his career, will miss at least 20 games a season for the rest of his career, cannot co-exist on the same floor with any superstar that isn't Steve Nash, is the worst defender at his position, and is getting paid superstar money to be a third string power forward.

Even Michael Jordan and Isiah Thomas aren't dumb enough to make such a move. We just have to deal with him for the next 3 seasons just like we had to deal with Vin Baker, Malik Rose, Eddy Curry and Jerome James for all those years.

Which of the 10 teams could give us a double-double low post scorer?

Aquiring Melo & Tyson the Knicks needed Stat to become a low-post scorer, that was not goin to happen under clueless Dantoni, or in a compressed 66 game season with few practices, and no low post coach on our staff.
Especially when Stat was getting more comfortable at not playing this season do to an undecisive lock-out lasting to the month of December.

Throughout the 2011-12 season none of our coaches worked on low-post scoring....Lin-Sanity had to show our coaches how dangerous our offense could be with low postup scoring.

The rockets if they gave us scolas contract

Amare is much better than a 20 mil gilbert arenas coming back from injuries and a scene in the locker room wirh guns and rashard lewis....if those guys can get traded then anybody can and there are desperate teams outbthere

SIGN AND TRADE with the Nets for D Will.

They can just re-sign Kris Humphries for far far less.

KH - 13.8pts 11rbs 1.2blks
AS - 17.5pts 7.8rbs 1blk

Don't know about you but i'll live with Humphries at a fraction of the cost with better and consistent overall production.

Sixers get:
Amare Stoudemire

Knicks get:
Andre Iguodala
N. Vucevic

Why Sixers do this trade:
They enquired about Amare earlier in the season and are dying to get a star back in Philly. It is well known management knows Iggy isn't the answer there and Iggy has been in many trade rumours before. Plus Lou Williams is expected to bounce at the end of the season (public comments by Iggy, and will probably recieve a bigger contract in Brooklyn, etc). Subesquently they will need more offensive firepower and Spencer Hawes contract expires at the end of the year. Elton Brand only has 1 more year on his bloated contract and before you go on with the "Stats contract is uninsured no one will want it bull****", him on the team will sell more tickets, jerseys etc and pay off his salary in revenue in the first season or two.

Why Knicks do this trade:
Obviously getting rid of STAT's contract is a massive plus but we get a brilliant perimeter defender in Iggy. Combined with Shump we would have the best perimeter defense in the league and become an elite overall defensive team. I suggest moving Melo to the 4 spot as he is proven to thrive there and it creates a mismatch in our favour. Also giving us a very athletic team. This team as constructed is a better version of the April team we had with Melo at the 4 and STAT and Lin out, except Lin's back and we replace Fields with Iggy.

Giving us a lineup of:

Jeremy Lin
Iman Shumpert
Andre Iguodala
Carmelo Anthony
Tyson Chandler

Giving them a lineup of:

Holiday
Turner
Young
Brand
Stoudemire

The combination of the best perimeter defenders in the game will give us a serious 1-2 punch against the likes of Wade, Westbrook, Rose and CP3. Carmelo and Lin are very capable scorers still giving us enough firepower in games and Iggy would be a great 2nd/3rd option. With Tyson becoming the primary beneficiary of the pick and roll and no worrying about getting STAT his touches I would think it would be reasonable to see him averaging 13-15ppg.

** Bonus incentives for this trade.
1. Vucevic may prove to be a decent and legitimate backup behind Chandler, and a young center like him will be very tradeable should we not require his services.

2. Iggy is an underrated playmaker and ball handler, this gives us 4, yes four players in the starting lineup capable of facilitating the offense and creating their own shot.

3. Better salary space allows us to retain Novak, Fields etc.

Thoughts? Feel free to shoot me down, all I ask is that you give me decent feedback and reveal why.

This would be perfect for us.

He's got Lin and a full 82 game season plus an off-season should help potential wear and tear

i would give him next season as his last opportunity in a knicks uniform...if he fails then we have to try and trade him

But I also see his performance in game 4 as a trading chip...that is if he follows it up with a good game 5...proving he can perform in the playoffs will increase his trade value significantly...high contract and all

Stat's trade value has risen a bit after today's game we should be able to make a decent trade if we trade him this offseason before he has a chance to lower it again next season
