We need a floor general we have Lin, but i can tell you this much LIN is not taking us to the promise land. He will be a Great PG in the future and who better to learn from than Nash?
Nash+Amare makes Amare not seem so useless and eases the pain of his atrocious contract.
Nash+Melo = Less Contested/chucked shots from Melo, the floor spacing would be Legit giving Melo enough room to operate.
Nash+Chandler= Nash would make Chandler a scoring threat down low, we already seen what Lin/Jason kidd could do with Chandler imagine what NASH could do with chandler.
Like somebody said before the PROS outweigh the CONS with signing Nash.
Gundy, Ca7 etc etc how can you not be in favor of signing this guy. Eliminate his age and just look at the quality we would be getting (plus we still have Lin) Nash + Lin PG tandem .... how can you pass that up o.O
The idea of adding Camby or Nash makes me soil my under garments
If STAT somehow regains his explosiveness and stays healthy, we will be competitive. Adding a defense specialist and a competent backup PG should be the top priority.
DeShawn Stevenson? Really?
Their roster is terrible. Nash is better than you think bro, I'll end it at that.
"The Knicks are back" - Amare
i can understand the age part he is old, but he is still in good shape and mobile. Nash could probably go 4 more years if he wanted to. I don't think you'll find a better PG rotation of Nash/Lin that's going to present itself. Sign up Nash for 2 years and chase the Championship if it fails, i believe Amare, Melo, Nash and chandler would all be coming off the books after the 2014-2015 season giving us a chance to rebuild completely or trade expiring contracts or whatever.
Lets face it
Ray Allen- Miami/celtic bound
Andre Miller- most likely going back to Denver
Jason Kidd- Most likely signs where Deron signs
OJ Mayo- No shot
Jason terry- NO shot
Realistically-For 3 mill Felton, Foye etc are New york bound, but even signing them only improves our team slightly. Nash to me is the best option and is better than alot of these other NON big names FA's we are looking to target.
If the option of getting Nash presents itself you pull the trigger. especially if all we have to give up if Landry fields + non-guaranteed contracts.
@ Ca7 whats wrong with the fit? Reuniting Nash with Amare is perfect. Im not worried to much about Melo he will get his shots and do his thing and probably at a highler level playing next to Nash. Nash is capable of hitting the open shot he does not neccesairly need the ball to be effective he's a great shooter. Defense may be the only slight issue, but Lin aint exactly your cup of tea defensively either (better than Nash, but he's not locking up anybody). When Shump returns i think the defense would be just fine.
