Think bigger picture man, this was the first time in his career that he got consistent minutes and actual time on the field. Woodson's a players coach and would no doubt have given each player items to work on in the offseason. I imagine Novak was told to learn how to utilise screens better and improve his defense.
His defense was poor last season but like I said, first time he was given a shot. He will improve and did put the effort in with his length to disrupt shots.
