Arriving courtside 25 minutes into the Knicks’ 30-minute media availability, Anthony responded to questions regarding a decision by James L. Dolan, the Madison Square Garden chairman, to aim microphones at each end of the Knicks’ home court last weekend. The microphones were supposedly to protect Anthony and to pick up any trash talk aimed in his direction after his much-publicized spat with the Boston Celtics’ Kevin Garnett and Anthony’s subsequent one-game suspension.

Anthony, it seems, appreciated the gesture. “I’ve got an owner that looks out for me, and you can’t beat that,” he said. “If an owner tries to protect their players, tries to protect his player, you can’t beat that.”

LONDON - Iman Shumpert is expected to make his season debut Thursday and maybe as a starter.

Woodson didn't rule out inserting the second-year guard in the starting lineup against the Pistons at O2 Arena.

"We'll see," Woodson said. "That could be a possibility, as well, based on him loosening up. If the doctors said that might be the way to go, I wouldn't be scared of putting him in the starting lineup. He's been there before."
