Dolan apparently wants Thibs

If you're into looking for potential coaches for the New York Knicks, you?re advised to spend some time scouting the visitors bench Wednesday night.

Because ...

While there?s no such thing as a safe bet in the unpredictable world of James Dolan, suggesting he?ll try someday to import Tom Thibodeau from Chicago to coach the Knicks is, at the very least, in the right zip code.

Knicks to chase Thibs? Don't rule it out

The article is by Marc Stein on ESPN. It's at least an interesting read.

But if Dolan really wants Thibs...is this the light at the end of the tunnel?

This level of lucidity from Dolan almost seems like a pipe-dream.

Thibs was assistan coach for Knicks few years. Truth is Thibs was assistant coach with all best

thats why his teams were one of best D

Thibs got contract still for 2 years afaik

Dolan keep dreaming and leave this franchise

We could have had Thibs years ago I think. if we could steal Thibs from Chicago, this would be the biggest coup for our franchise since we got Pat Riley in town.

This would be nice, obviously Thibs is one of the top defensive coordinators in the league and the Knicks defense leaves a lot to be desired sometimes. However I think we also need someone who is a top quality offensive coach too, because this ISO **** is wearing the team very thin. How is Thibs on the offensive end? I know the Bulls don't perform that great on that side of the ball a lot of the time although their team is really made up of mostly defensive specialists/hustle guys with just a handful of guys who can shoot/create.

I don't really watch enough of the Bulls to know how good he is in that aspect.

He promotes a lot of inside-out philosophies. A lot of interior passing between the 4 and 5 too.

But he seems like a coach that would benefit from an offensive minded assistant. Seems like the kind of guy who wouldn't mind bringing one in either.

Dolan is way more willing to spend his money than Reinsdorf seems to be, so I'd think Thibs would be able to get whoever he wants to sit with him on the bench (Ron Adams would probably be one).
