Knicks receive draft pick from Lakers...
Lakers send Pau +1 to Suns... (19 +)
Suns send draft pick to Lakers...
Suns send Okafor to Knicks... (14.5)
Knicks need many things but having a defender that can rebound is a must... Because the Lakers are getting what they need and players that fit Mike D. system the Knicks really don't have to forfeit Hardaway or Shumpert in this move... The Suns clearly want Pau, regardless for what reason... Okafor would be expendable with this move and the Knicks should be willing to take him on... Emeka would serve as the garbage man around the rim... Also he could help/team Tyler how to play even better defense in the low post, which will grow Jeremy's skill even better than where it is now...
Then the Knicks can explore other trades to and sign a free agent or two to fill those needs...
Drew Gooden PF/C another rebounder and veteran presence...
Terrence Williams SF/SG or take gamble on PF Trey Thompkins maybe even Josh Shelby...
We are stuck with Bargs but we can probably find a suitor for Amare, maybe to Celtics or whomever...
Not saying it would work out fine but to acquire another expiring contract will give better cap flexibility this off season...
They definitely need to do something as this lineup sucks, and seems like it will never be more than it currently is...
