Eventhough we don't currently own a pick, rumors are swirling that Jackson will get a 2nd rounder and maybe even a 1st round pick.

We would most likely draft in late 1st round and 2nd round. Here are some prospects to keep an eye on:

P.J Hairston- Strong athletic SG/SF with potential to develop a nice consistent jumper. He has already worked out for the Knicks which led to speculation that the Knicks will make moves to get a 1st round pick...possibly for Hairston. Played in the D league last season due to dropping out of NCAA for some stupid illegal issues (drove rented cars)

Isaiah Austin- Big lanky 7'1 Center from Baylor that is known for rim protection, rebounding, and offensive upside. Has the tools to develop into a two way center like Roy Hibbert but lacks the strength (needs to add weight). Can take the ball off the dribble and has a running hook shot with both hands, very versatile big man. Could be a sleeper pick late 1st or early 2nd round. weaknesses: lacks aggressiveness but when he is, he excels.

Patric Young- Strong PF/C from Florida capable of playing spot minutes at the 5- has an NBA ready body and is a bruiser type that we need..strengths: Strength and chiseled frame, quickness and athleticism, developed finishing moves and jump-hooks with both hands, great all-around defender. Weaknesses: raw and needs to work on rebounding...

Jusuf Nurkic- Bruising Center at 6'11 280 pounds reminds me of a Nikola Pecuvic...

Bogdan Bogdanovic- Very versatile SG that can play multiple positions at 6'6- could be a sleeper manu ginobili type...

Point Guards- Tyler Ennis (1st round), Shabazz Napier (1st round), Semaj Christon (early 2nd round), Jehii Carson (early 2nd round)...etc. Many point guards in the draft to choose from?

Who do you think we should pick for 1st round and 2nd round assuming Jackson gets these picks via trade or payment?

With the Knicks' first-round pick residing with the Magic (from the Anthony trade with Denver), Phil Jackson is eager to buy his way into the bottom of the first round (which would cost James Dolan a mere $3.2 million). Jackson's targets: Tyler Ennis or P.J. Hairston.

Deonte Burton
PG (Nevada - Senior)
22.9 years old | 6'1" | 193 lbs

Jahii Carson
PG (Arizona State - Sophomore)
21.8 years old | 5'11" | 180 lbs

Of the three in the second round, prefer Burton...

While Deonte may not be a prototypical floor general or a well-rounded guard, he's a dangerous play maker due to his ability to attack the basket... His speed, strength and leaping ability will help him knife through opposing defenders, and it will also help him apply some defensive pressure of his own... He is someone who could contribute early and eventually take over as a starter in two to three years...

The Knicks answer to everything is to spend millions. Best chance to buy a pick will be on draft night and if the Suns or OKC don't see anything they like at 27 and 29 they might sell it to the Knicks. I doubt Hairston, Ennis or Shabazz are available at 27+ but I do like Hairston.

I love Ennis but I doubt he along with Hairston will be there. I do not want to waste a purchased pick on a 2 guard. I also "feel Phil will"(<------check out the word play there...lol) not be able to buy into the first round. Go look at past drafts and look at what picks sell for sorry $2-3mil of cash will not get it done. Especially now teams know who we may be targeting and where those players are projected to be drafted. Of course we always tip our hands in everything we do, something I thought would end with Phil here.

I mean come on what are we saying if...we draft Hairston when we have...

Chumpert(won't fill potential...I never was high on him to begin with)
J.R. Smith
Hardaway

This would indicate we should have traded Chumpert during the season while Phil was shot calling stealth mode.

This would indicate Grunwald did us a major disservice signing Smith to a long term deal adding to 2015 salary.

This would indicate Hardaway is not viewed as a multifaceted guard in this organization's eyes.

I mean look at our point guard problem is there any team in the league with a worse point guard situation than us?

Frank Isola says it is possible CLE trades #1 pick to NY in a S&T for 'Melo... If Lebron willing to return to CLE, then Anthony is on board.

For NYK... Parker or Wiggin + lottery pick ad max player next year... pus team in great position to recruit Fisher's pal (Kevin Durant).

Isola wrote this to get hits as we head into the draft. There is absolutely nothing to this story.

The why bury it in the middle of a Melo opts out? Doubtful... yes. But nothing to it?

1) Why was/is CLE silent on K-Love trade talk?
2) Embid hut, Parker overweight an tanks workout.
3) Melo ad Lebron pals
4) CLE has Irving + young players + cap space
5) Melo an LJ have limited options this summer
6) Not crazy to think Lebron wans to repair image and return to CLE (especially since Irving-Melo > Bosh-Wade

Do the math here... Certainly possible. Not outlandish

No way Lebron goes back to Cleveland, LBJ has his pick of any team in the league so why would he go back to a team with Dan Gilbert. Gilbert burnt his bridge with Lebron and Lebron is not building another one. You have to start with Lebron returning to Cleveland before Melo would even think about going there.

Isola is full of crap.

Lebron's wife just tweeted out: "Home Sweet Home!! The countdown is real."

They are going home for a summer vacation. They still have strong ties to that community, and family trumps 1 public spat with Gilbert.

In 2012, Lebron said he would love to play for CLE fans again.

We don't know how mad LJ is at Gilbert - time will tell - and I agree that I would think he would never play for him. But Lebron is shrewd enough to realize how immortal he would become if the King returned home and won title. Also doesn't hurt that Melo and Irving are better than Wade-Bosh

If Carmelo chooses Houston, it will have to be a S&T but they don't have the equivalent match... Either the Knicks take back Lin or Asik, then it will then cement either Felton or Tyson trade, most likely draft day... If there is a trade w/ Houston guarantee P.J. will target Parsons (S&T) if he is still on the Rockets roster... With any trade the Rockets will have to anti up draft picks and we could be rewarded with the 25th this year and 2016 1st Rd...

It is starting to look like Shumpert could be heading either one of two destinations: Phoenix or OKC, this would give us a second 1st round if Melo goes to Houston... I seriously doubt P.J. can afford not to make this move happen...

As for buying 1st round picks forget about it, if they purchase any selections they will target the 76ers 2nd round picks...

With the sale of the Bucks organization, is there still a disconnect with Larry Sanders in Milwaukee??? If so, the Knicks front office should figure a way to work a deal to acquire Sanders... Possibly moving Andrea Bargnani's expiring contract for Sanders works out on paper, dollars...

Figure the Mavericks could fork over a couple 2nd rounds for Tyson Chandler (2014 & 2015)...

All in all, Phil Jackson needs to make some moves now and not wait to 2015, especially since it seems Anthony is NOT returning...

By chance if those rumors have any validity to Melo to Cavs and we acquire the #1 overall, could see P.J. trading down for both 76ers 1st round selections (#3 & #10) could double dip and acquire either (Parker, Wiggins or Exum) then with the other pick target (Harris, Randle or Gordon)... <<<< Would make for an interesting season if we could acquire something like that and still have a 3rd 1st round with a Shumpert trade...

It's because Lebron runs summer caps and charity in Akron during the summer and his family vacations there this time of the year.

It seems Knick fans are too concerned if Melo is going to be taking care of and in a winning situation regardless if he signs here.

I don't care about either douchebag to be honest. These hypothetical mythical stories are for the gullies

I keep hearing the Knicks are confident they can buy a pick. PJ is delusional about buying a late first or early second rounder with only 1.8M of the 3M allotted for cash deals the Knicks have left.

If he wants a pick he's going to have to trade Shump, I wouldn't think much of Phil if he only gets the Sun's 27th pick for him, who's to say the 27th pick is going to be better than Shump.

Yeah, I had been thinking the only way he'd get a 1st round pick was in a sign and trade of Melo to Chicago. Like you said, buying one seems unlikely and trading Shump, after he supposedly talked up Shump as a key guy for him going forward, seems hard to swallow. When all is said and done, I can't help but think PJ will be sitting home watching on draft night.

Didn't take long to show that PJ had something else up his sleeve. We are in the draft for at least a couple 2nd round picks. Let's go Knicks!

BEcause we traded Tyson and Felton we basically got 3 picks (Larkin)

Cleanthony Early and Shane Larkin are 1st round talents and Antemkompou is a defensive specialist that can grow and develop.
