Jim Cleamons: assistant coach hire

Kiyaman

Legend
Phil Jackson's coaching tree doesn't reach very far, and it's almost been reassembled on Derek Fisher's Knicks staff. Kurt Rambis is already Fisher's lead assistant, and, as many suspected would happen, Jim Cleamons is joining as well:
Cleamons is a very triangular fellow who head-coached the Mavericks for one and a half very bad years and has otherwise served as an assistant in various places, twice for Jackson's Lakers, and most recently for the pre-Kidd Bucks. With Brian Shaw already spoken for, the Knicks are a Bill Cartwright and/or a Frank Hamblen away from maximum Lakerness.

Fisher's crew now includes (or will include, since most of this hasn't been made official) Rambis, Cleamons, and Rasheed Hazzard, formerly of the Lakers, as well as Joshua Longstaff and Brian Keefe, formerly of the Thunder. That might be everybody. If they add more coaches, they would have a particularly long staff.

Update: As several have reminded me, Cleamons was a Knick, and in fact part of the trade that sent Walt Frazier to Cleveland.
