For anyone who hasn't read the interview in these links, I highly recommend it. In particular, the second link is amazing as Phil covers so much ground just talking about his own life and experiences with other athletes, coaches, etc. You won't learn all that much about the Knicks for this upcoming season, but you'll get a feel for maybe why PJ is so effective a motivator and leader.

I used to think Grunny was a good GM, in fact I called him the best GM the Knicks had since 2000. Guess I was wrong because despite trying he couldn't land another job in the NBA and is now an AD for some college in Canada. Phil is night and day compared to Grunny, while Grunny said he wasn't allowed to talk to the media Phil is a daily story showing who is running the Knicks.

Made me laugh what he said about JR that he may be like Dennis Rodman and he might not be able to change him but he'll get a chance to help the team or it'll be "whatever" (trade his ass).

yeah, Phil's attitude is "man up or man out", if JR doesn't figure it out this season, he's as good as gone. PJ's role as motivator and visionary is well exemplified in this interview, very personal, professional, and intelligent. not too high or too low, taking the middle road. love it.
