MIAMI -- Trae Young figured the game was over.

Turns out, Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat were just getting started -- on one of the wildest stat nights in team history.

Duncan Robinson tied a franchise record with 10 3-pointers, Butler and Bam Adebayo each had triple-doubles, and the Heat went on a late flurry to beat the Atlanta Hawks 135-121 in overtime Tuesday.

The Heat were down by six with 59 seconds left in regulation when Young took a celebratory walk to the Atlanta bench for a timeout, with Butler hearing him shout, "It's over!"

Miami scored the next 22 points -- the final six of regulation and the first 16 of overtime -- to improve to 18-6 overall and 11-0 at home.

"I don't think anybody really thought the Heat were relevant," Adebayo said. "We're making people watch us."

Kendrick Nunn scored a career-high 36 points, one off the Heat rookie single-game record. Robinson scored 34, a career high. Adebayo finished with a career-high 30 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists. Butler had 20 points, a career-high 18 rebounds and 10 assists.

Afterward, Butler couldn't resist a jab at Young on Instagram, writing: "this man @traeyoung is a teller of the future. he was right. game WAS over!"

Young also took to social media and acknowledged his mistake in a short tweet.

2 undrafted Dudes combine for 70 points!

Duncan Robinson and Kendrick Nunn, of Michigan and Oakland fame, respectively, went bananas on Tuesday night to the tune of a combined 70 points in a 135-121 overtime win vs. Atlanta.

Robinson was a blazing 10 of 14 from downtown and 12 of 16 from the field. He finished with a career-high 34 points. It was just three weeks ago that Robinson torched his former coach John Beilein with nine triples and 29 points in a blowout of the Cavs.

His ascension has been one of the NBA?s biggest surprises, considering he appeared in just 15 games a season ago and scored more than six points just once, a 15-point outing in the finale.

Down 6 59 secs left to go to OT, not as good as that Hornets Bulls game where the Bulls were down 5 with 7 secs remaining and pulled out the W in regulation. Miami development of young talent is something the Knicks sorely need and should imitate.

Doncic was knocked out of their game tonight early in the 1st quarter with an ankle injury.
Ankle injuries can be serious, Fox of Sactown has been out with his since Nov 11 more than a month but should be returning this week.

Let's hope Doncic injury is not the grade 3 injury Fox had.

KP with 26 & 12 & 4... and 2 blocks, as Mavs beat Giannis in MIL (without Doncic).

Mavs came to play not just KP. Pretty impressive beating a team on their court that just won 18 games in a row without your best player. Timmy stunk fwiw.

Heard the Mavs now have the highest offensive rating since the inception of that stat at 116.7 per 100 possessions higher than the Bucks at 114.6 who rank second. Luka has a lot to do with that but you don't do it with just one guy.

The battle of New York is no longer national. Knicks-Nets on Dec. 26 dropped from TNT and replaced by Spurs-Mavs. Was to be the second of Knicks? three national TV games this season.

They probably want us to take a 2nd round pick and a bad contract in return. Moving DSJ now will be like trying to move Ntilikina last year, only possible if we basically give him away.

Rumor is that Minny interested in DSJ....
More than rumor imo. Wolves lack depth at the position with only Teague and Napier and both guys are UFA this off-season. You would think they would be asking about Ntilikina also, wonder what that says about the relative trade value of both of them compared to each other? Could it be that DSJ still attracts more interest than Nits in trade talks despite DSJ year so far.

The best ability is availability... just as we knew we would look bad in Nov-Dec... we all knew this was inevitable:

Mavs coach Rick Carlisle didn't give a timetable for Kristaps Porzingis (sore right knee).
"There's no timetable," Carlisle said. "We'll see." That's all he had to say on the matter, while Porzingis himself said he was unsure if he would play Thursday vs. Brooklyn. KP apparently injured the knee in the previous game and thought he'd be fine for tonight, but ruled himself out after not feeling right in warmups.

It's KP right knee this time and not the left knee that he had surgery on. Not sure if that's good or bad, that he might have problems with both knees or that at least his injured left knee is the one that isn't sore. THJ also out with a hammy and the Mavs went down to the Thunder without both of them.

Speaking of the Thunder, one of the surprise teams to me along with Miami, 7th in a tough WC when they were supposed to be rebuilding after losing Russ and PG. Best of both world's winning and getting a ton of draft assets to use in rebuilding. Dolan ought to look at this when firing Mills, in saying to himself, the Thunder are winning with a rebuilt roster why aren't the Knicks. Miami is winning with talented young players, why aren't our young players just as good.

If we can't get Ujiri, I'd see if Presti is interested in leaving small market OKC for NYC,

Kyle Kuzma trainer saying Kawhi outplayed LBJ on Xmas. Not going to debate whose the better player since LBJ is 35 and Kawhi just won the 2019 best player award but there’s talk Kuzma maybe on the move in the next deal by the Lakers to solidify their championship run. With the Lakers latest losing streak maybe they consider a MM for Kuzma deal. Both teams would benefit, Lebron loves vets like MM who can shoot and the Knicks would get a young talent like Kuzma.

Plus... I?m sure Lj?s camp would love to banish Kuzma to the moribund NYK franchise.

That?s actually a good deal for both teams. Lakers are all-in for this season, and they need immediate playoff success this season or risk watching AD bolt.

Knicks looking for first round or young asset for a pending free agent (and they can always sign MM this summer).

I would prefer we target Jrue and go get him.... but these a the moves NY need to make. They need to find a piece for the future out of this trade deadline.... keep the rebuild momentum going...

Former NBA commissioner David Stern died today. He had a hell of a run as commissioner. I will always remember him having a good sense of humor about the NY crowd booing him every year at the draft and then cheering then assistant commissioner Adam Silver.

Never will get over his stupid decision to suspend Ewing in 1997.... but RIP nonetheless.

RIP Mr. Stern, he made basketball the global game it is. A true giant in the sports entertainment business, maybe the most impactful figure in it ever.

This was my opinion of Stern but I see it’s widely shared judging by the Washington Post story on him.

Stern, who turned a struggling league into a billion-dollar business viewed in more than 200 countries, was considered one of the most effective and powerful sports executives

Brooklyn falls below 0.500 with the loss tonight.

Dallas without KP is essentially just as good. Doncic is all you need.
