MN did well, they didn't get any first rounders for Butler but they are not exactly a rebuilding team, expectations are for them to win not to get first round picks to win in a few years. They pick up a couple of good players in Covington and Saric and couldn't do any worse with them than they did with JB losing 5 games in a row. Sixers were 8-5, not sure this reset of the roster with Butler was absolutely necessary, strikes me a bit of them rolling the dice on Fultz.

The Sixers are trading forwards Robert Covington and Dario Saric, guard Jerryd Bayless, and a 2020 second-round pick for Butler and forward Justin Patton, sources said.

Philly got the BIG-3 plus Redick & Fultz .. are they better or the same?
The Wolves depth got deeper adding Saric & Covington !!! `

I was reading online about how Fultz is the problem for the Sixers now because he can?t shoot. Simmons can?t shoot, but he is an otherwise stellar player. Embiid, Butler, and Simmons should be enough to get you pretty far, but they need the rest of the starters and the first 2 to 3 guys off the bench to play their roles well and Fultz is a project still.

Fultz biggest problem is Simmons leading the point for 32 to 35 minute of playing-time each game .. I dont believe any of Fultz coaches in HS, college, or camps ever had Fultz play SG. Plus my 50 yrs of watching the NBA 80% of the best PG in the league were not good at scoring.
The 76ers letting all their bigmen go to the next team the past 2 seasons are going to hurt their paint domination now that Saric & Covington are gone. Embiid cant play the perimeter no more till they get some paint presence from Patton & Amir at the PF position.

ESPN Insider which is now called ESPN+ gave the Sixers a C- for the trade and the TWolves a B.

Ben Simmons loves the acquisition of Butler who I feel is a perfect fit for he and Embiid. The only unattractive aspect of the trade is paying Butler but these days most players are overpaid so what can you do. Sports Illustrated and ESPN if I'm not mistaken rated Butler a Top 15 player to start the season...so ESPN probably might want to re-examine this soon.

Butler's a 2-Way player plus a leader on the court .. just what the Knicks need to develop the young-core players .. the Knicks should have been on top of the Butler trade from day 1 offering them Timmy and the 2019 first round pick !!!

Unbelievable. Rumors are hot and heavy the Rox are going to waive him. A 2 way player Gary Clark is going to take his spot on the roster which is even more unbelievable.

Horrific injury to Caris LeVert tonight. He?s been having a great year so far for the Nets. I have no love for the Nets, but this is a real shame for a young guy who could have been a future star in this league.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 18 points with five rebounds, three assists, two steals and one blocked shot in 38 minutes in Monday's win over Golden State.

Gilgeous-Alexander continues to make progress during his young career, and on Monday he extended his streak of scoring in double figures to three straight games. And the Kentucky product was efficient from a shooting standpoint, finishing the night 8-for-11 from the field. Over his last three games, Gilgeous-Alexander is averaging 17.7 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game, shooting 55.6% from the field.

Emotions flare for Kevin Durant, Draymond Green near end of loss
play

KD, Draymond get heated on bench, exchange words.

LOS ANGELES -- Golden State Warriors All-Stars Kevin Durant and Draymond Green usually keep each other in check when they get too emotional about a call or a play throughout the season.

On Monday night, the teammates exchanged heated words on the bench at the end of regulation during a 121-116 overtime loss to the LA Clippers.

Durant, who finished with a triple double, scoring 33 points, grabbing 11 rebounds and dishing out 10 assists, was apparently upset that Green didn't give up the ball at the end of regulation with the game tied 106-106.

Instead of finding Durant, Green raced up the floor but ultimately had the ball knocked away before he could get a shot off. Television cameras caught Durant and Green exchanging words on the bench as both players had to be calmed down by their teammates before the start of overtime.

Warriors guard Stephen Curry did not play Monday against the Clippers and will be out Tuesday against the Hawks as he continues to recover from a left groin strain, but Golden State welcomed back Draymond Green and Shaun Livingston.

Neither player addressed the media after the game, but veteran point guard Shaun Livingston downplayed the heated exchange.

"Just team spirit," Livingston said. "Team spirit. Guys wanted a different outcome than what happened. Obviously, Dray had the turnover, guys might have thought they were open or wanted the basketball, didn't get it. Things happen like that in sports. But it was good to see some fire, some emotion."

The words between Durant and Green overshadowed the Warriors' teamwork that got them back in the game -- rattling off a 19-5 run to close regulation and send it into overtime. Durant battled foul trouble throughout the night, but he managed to hang in the contest down the stretch to help bring the Warriors back. Aside from the self-created fireworks on the bench, it was a questionable call from referee Marc Davis, one that gave Durant his sixth and final foul, which frustrated the group more than almost any other whistle.

"[Davis] said [Montrezl] Harrell did the swipe thing and that's why he called it," Warriors coach Steve Kerr said. "I don't think that has to be an automatic foul. I didn't see a foul on that. It looked like his hands were here and Harrell just kind of swung the ball through. That's not what cost us the game."

"I thought that was a tough call," Livingston added. "They made a lot of tough calls. Questionable. It was a questionable call because he kind of lost the ball, kind of flopped, sold it. I don't know if Marc [Davis] had the best angle, but he made the call."

The Warriors were outscored 30-16 at the foul line, but Kerr noted that the Clippers deserved the victory. He didn't blame the tough whistles on the loss, but the Warriors know some of those whistles changed the tenor of the game.

"I thought four of them were tough calls," Kerr said of Durant's fouls. "It was a tough night for Kevin and I just kept him out there because we're obviously a little short-handed with Steph [Curry] out. And I like to let guys play through fouls anyway. There were a few tough ones."

The Warriors certainly didn't sound concerned that any hard feelings between Durant and Green in the moment would linger. They knew they didn't execute at times when they needed to and are confident they will bounce back on Tuesday night against the Atlanta Hawks -- another game they will be without Curry, as he continues to recover from a strained left groin.

"When we lock in we're the best defensive team in the world," the Warriors' Klay Thompson said. "We proved that the last few years, we got the best switching ability in the league. ... Unfortunately we lost, but we'll see them again a couple times and be better."

As for whether he was impressed by the Clippers' defensive acumen, Thompson brushed off any major praise.

"I mean they're good," he said. "But they're nothing special."

Something I've said about G-A and Sexton is that they have a feel for the game that Nits lacks and that's what distinguishes them from him. Read a comment that the Knicks think Nits lacks "creativity" which is probably another way of saying he doesn't have a feel for the game. The question is can Nits learn feel or creativity and how long does it take to acquire it?

Looked similar to Gordo's injury. He'll be out until next season, he's had an injury history in his young career with 2 foot injuries also. Good young player whose career may be derailed by injury.
