New York Knicks - 2018 Draft

Broadway

All Star
Oklahoma Sooners freshman Trae Young tied the NCAA Division I record with 22 assists Tuesday night and became the first player in two decades to register at least 20 points and 20 assists in the same game.

Young's 22 assists tied a single-game record, shared by Syracuse's Sherman Douglas (1989), Southern's Avery Johnson (1988) and Charleston Southern's Tony Fairley (1987).

At 6-foot-2 and 180 pounds, Young is the Division I leader in points (28.5 PPG) and assists (10.2 APG).

Young has four games with at least 20 points and 10 assists this season, as many as anyone had in D-I last season. He also scored or assisted on 72 percent of Oklahoma's offense against Northwestern State, and he was responsible for more points than the Demons scored (68) as a team.

Good point, Broadway, on ORL failing to develop guys. Add KOQ to that list.... Herz should join our euro-centric roster where he can blossom.

Orlando is truly disgusting here on some never will we see this again levels. In the past 7yrs they've had these players on their team when they were young/younger.

Victor Oladipo
Tobias Harris
Mo Harkless
Dewayne Dedmon
E'Twaun Moore
Kyle O'Quinn
J.J. Redick
Ryan Anderson
Marcin Gortat
Shabazz Napier

I'd argue the collection of players above are better than the current roster

But instead put all their eggs in the Fournier basket. Not that he's a bad player but when you have 2 prospects in Hezonja and Isaac who are languishing to nonexistence and you've simultaneously started benched/started benched Payton and Vucevic and only recently started featuring Aaron Gordon after he got Dunk publicity you know this franchise is all kinds of wrongs and wronger. Another major reason their former GM should've been fired and judging by what I'm witnessing at present the current one should be sweating bullets too, 1st yr on the job.

This is a modern day American tragedy. No one knows who their best player is. I'd gladly take Hezonja if they're trying to feature him, shouldn't take much to get a deal done.

I wonder what the price tag would be? WHG for Herz?

How much do you think Scott Perry was involved with this train wreck? Funny that Mills and Perry talk about developing a winning culture but Skiles complained about just that when he quit.

He deserves lots of blame(Rob the majority) because as you state when Skiles quit one of the things that leaked...he was being told who to play from above(mgmt). Like seriously the nerve of them. I've spoke on Orlando several times on this forum not glowingly and this won't change for a while.

This is a franchise who once again in review...

Traded Tobias Harris for Brandon Jennings and Illyasova...Skiles was tired of the young pieces not working and this is the trade they rocked with?

Traded Victor Oladipo, Illaysova, and draft rights to Sabonis(lol) for Ibaka and then flipped Ibaka for Terrence Ross and 2017 pick(25th which was traded for future OKC assets in 2020 a best case scenario of 21st and 31st picks because of protections<-------(all done less than a yr)

I believe Perry was there for most of it...hired by Kings in April 2017 with exception to when the 25th pick was traded which was on draft night in June(he was doing work for Kings then)

This completes my investigation

What a game today... Fla St at Duke. Total back and forth.... Bagley and Duvall were insane. At one point, Fla St was 16-25 from downtown. Duke wins 100-93, only bc Seminoles went cold final 3 minutes. Best game of the year so far (in college).

I missed this...sounds like you enjoyed yourself watching it. I also missed Butler knocking off Villanova.

Butler kept making their shots, bolstered by their home crowd. ?Nova made a run to start second half and whittled 20 point lead to 8..:: but Butler kept scoring.

UNC barely survived at home vs Wake. A great afternoon of hoops culminating in a sweet NYK win.

Yeah college definitely delivered. Ayton went absolutely "Beast Mode" something like 23/19 and then there's this kid who's absolutely unguardable in every sense.

This is like Steph Curry on steroids...good luck Knicks

This kid from Oklahoma could be player of the year and the top pick. Awesome!

I didn't look at the boxscore but he had 39/14...goodness gracious.. Could've shot a little better overall but 6-14 from 3 and attempting 18fta suggest he's more than a handful.

It'll be Bagley at Number 1 in the draft, head and shoulders better than any player on the floor in that FLA State game on both sides. Freak athlete that is able to mistime his jump going up for a RB but go up again and still snag the RB. Quick twitch muscles and pogo springs in his legs and can shoot the 3, he'll be better than DJ and AD.

I don't think it's as clear cut anymore hence NBADraft.net has Ayton #1 and Trae #3(he wasn't in the top 30 to start the season I don't believe). I'm not saying Bagley isn't a deserved consensus #1 but the gap has closed immensely.

There are 6 prospects who IMO have stud status written all over them and we may not have a chance at none of them

Very close between Ayton and Bagley, one thing about Ayton is he looks like he's unbreakable, tremendous body built to stand an 82 game schedule along with playing 30 plus minutes. If you were to pick a guy that wouldn't get injured, he'd be my guy.

yep... the way its looking is we mite sneak into the playoffs as the 8th seed, and face boston/cavs/rap's...wash... whomever... we will be one and done... this should be a tanking season for us... we need a stud, and doubt we will be the #1 landing spot for any free agents...

Trae Young does it again even Stpeh Curry is giving this kid props publicly and said enjoys watching him play.

Dropped 27/9/10 on in state rival Oklahoma State. Trae Young only wants to be compared to Trae Young. IMO what separates him from Curry is the fact he actually distributes the basketball like Kidd unlike Curry. His vision and court awareness of teammates is uncanny. So impressive

Oh and then there's this kid(Markus Howard) who dropped 52 on Providence 42 of them in the 2nd half. Such gigantic games from guys so small of stature

Have to be impressed with the year Doncic is having in Europe playing in the Spanish League, the best league outside ot the NBA. Scouts are going to be impressed with an 18 yr old putting up these kind of numbers. He's back as the top pick in the ESPN Insider mock.

^^^ I don't really follow college ball but were gonna need one of those top 15 small forwards/power forwards on our team. That'll complete our starting line up, then we can focus on building the perfect bench

The Ringer?s latest mock has NYK selecting 13th. The draft?s no-man?s land.

Shooting guard, Oregon, freshman (6-foot-7, 215 pounds, 18 years old).

Chau: Oregon?s been disappointing early in conference play, but freshman Troy Brown has looked good over the past month, averaging 12.9 points (on 45.7 percent shooting, 39.3 from 3), 8.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.4 steals per game since December began.

A lot of Brown?s pros and cons overlap with the Knicks? point guard of the future in Frank Ntilikina: Brown is a smart, jack-of-all-trades type of 3-and-D guard with good creative instincts but a noticeable lack of high-end athleticism. Ntilikina was one of the youngest players in the 2017 draft, and Brown will be one of the youngest in this year?s?and the best thing you could say about either of them is how mature their games are. Loading up on interchangeable players who play a fundamentally sound brand of basketball isn?t the worst way to build up a franchise led by a unicorn.
