Does Mcderm belong in the starter lineup or 6th Man

At this point he belongs on the bench. Maybe if Courtney was playing bad we could have Timmy at SG and McBuckets at SF. But our starters are mostly playing well, so there's no need to put him in.

I would like to see what Dotson has to offer tho. I feel like he could be a perfect 6th man in the first few years of his career.

:agreed:

It's his contract year also and perversely if we start him it means he's playing well and the Knicks are giving him a stage to showcase his multi-dimensional skills. We do have his bird rights so we can match any offer he receives but if he starts he probably would receive a THJ type of deal from someone. Him playing the role he has now with the Knicks could be worth 24-32M offer from someone, let him come off the bench this year.

he's getting close to starters minutes because hornacek can't play both lee and hardaway together for too many minutes.

it's not who starts it's who plays with whom and for how long.

Just saw that ATL game. Dougie sucked, if he's telling Horn "coach, let me start, I know the team will be better" the guy is wildly delusional. Lol.

Perry is taking a wait and see attitude with Doug, rightfully so when the Bulls traded him with them desperate for shooting. One of the objectives this season is to get an answer to the question, do we sign Dougie and bring him back.

Lol keep him as a 3 point specialist for now. Play him around 12 minutes a game and then we use Dotson for the other 10+ minutes. Dotson is a good defender that can develop into a great one if we give him the chance.

He should've started Day 1, but oh well. This organization functions strictly through a keyhole, nothing panoramic about it whatsoever
