Game Thread: New York Knicks @ Dallas Mavericks 7:00 1/7/2018 [Game #40]

O?Quinn is crushing it out there in all facets of the game. Just a great game for him.

After starting 5-6 KP is 4 for his last 17.

O?Quinn with 15 points on 6 of 7 shooting from the floor with 10 boards, 3 assists, and a block in 17 minutes. Wow. We lead 13. Time to close these guys out.

4 and a half minutes to go and Carlisle takes out DSJ to go back to Barea for a comeback attempt. Lead is 10.

KP returns. WHG really only got a minute or so out there. Barea sparking the comeback. Lead is down to 6.

Hornacek goes back to our starters except with O?Quinn out there instead of Kanter.

Nits tries a one hand cross court pass which gets stolen and JJ gets an easy layup off it.

That offensive foul call against Jack is about as bad as it gets. Game is tied.

This is what happens when refs lose control of a game. Guys are just getting beat up now.

Tie game on Harris 3, 13 pt Knick lead gone in 2 minutes.

Mavs go on a 15-2 run to tie it.... NYK Lee 90-77 with 4:50 left... Knicks led all game.... but are not scrambling.

Both teams have a reason to be upset. Refs have really done a poor job here in the 4th. Tie game. Knicks ball. 60 seconds to play.

Jack drains the runner. We lead by 2 with 31 seconds to go. This is going to be one of those games where both teams send tape to the NBA office. Refs are allowing guys to get crushed. Refs don?t know what to do, so they?re doing nothing.

Barea misses the open 3 and Lee grabs the rebound. Lee needs to knock down these 2 FTs to extend the lead. 16.6 seconds to go.

Ugly shot by KP didn't even hit iron on an 8 ft jumper. Wes Matthews got physical with KP.

Lee gets it done from the line.

Mavs miss again. Lee should be able to seal it here.

Lee seals it with another 2 FTs. Lee is the best FT shooter in the NBA right now. Lead is 6 with 7.3 seconds to go.

Knicks get the road win. We fell apart in the 4th, but more importantly, we got it together when it mattered.

I know Tig will do his thing and post the box score, but I think it?s fair to say neither Ntilikina nor DSJ ended up being the story of this game.

Ntilikina made some great defensive plays, but had a relatively non-descript offensive game. Mavs on the other hand were a better team when DSJ was not on the court tonight.
