PHILADELPHIA ? Knicks coach David Fizdale said this retooling season is dedicated now to ?small victories,? such as Kevin Knox posting a double-double.

Knox came close Wednesday at Wells Fargo Center as the prized lottery pick struck for 21 points on 8-of-17 shooting with six rebounds for his sixth straight game of 15 or more points. He?s the first Knicks rookie to accomplish that streak since Mark Jackson in 1986-87.

Usually a team allowing 131 points and 53.4 percent shooting isn?t putting in the effort, but again this is a season where up is down and down is up.

.
Don't agree with giving up the fight with only 33 games played. Kiya is rightFizdale isn't a winning coach, winning coaches don't throw in the towel.

I get what Coach FIZ is saying about “small victories.” That’s code for “we suck” and “we ain’t gonna win” most nights. The silver lining to the cloud is that we are stacking young talent. This is what a rebuild looks like folks. Everyone clamors for the tank until it rolls over you. Been through this with my KC Chiefs multiple times. And once we don’t have count on guys CLEE and guys Vonleh are coming off the bench like they should be then we will have something. We don’t have the talent to complete most nights. But defense is effort. And the lack thereof is alarming like Horn 2.0 with no offensive philosophy to top it off. FIZ not be the guy to moving forward once real talent arrives. Time will tell....

Amen! Not sure why some are disappointed either. We needed a rebuild... it?s here... and this is what it looks like, especially when your young roster is beset with injury.

Ask a sports psychologist, and they key difference between a team on the rise vs a team stuck in the mud is this:

Are they competing?

I have to say, as we approach the halfway point... this group is batting.
