Steve Mills Fired!!!

Getting the right coach is one thing but getting the right players is way more important. I posted in the NBA thread about the TWolves makeover after a 13 game losing streak and them destroying the Clips with a franchise record scoring first half of 81 pts and setting the franchise record for 3pt shots made 23 and they did it without DLo who sat out the game on the bench. Their scoring the next game was impressive as well against the Raps in a loss, they repeated breaking the old first half scoring record again with 75 pts in a loss to the Raps.

Check out a kid named Jordan Mcglauglin, who the Twolves brought up from the GLeague who I mention because I said I've seen Gleague callups better than our lottery picks Nits and DSJ. He's only 5'11" so his upside maybe capped but what an athlete seeing him posterize the Hawks with a thundering dunk and pushing the pace. Scored 24 pts in the win against the Clips nd 15 against the Hawks.

It's early but I like the makeover by them and shows that you can turn around a franchise quickly with the right front office.

Speaking of the right coach did anyone see the Steve Stout interview on First Take yesterday? It?s on YouTube if you missed it. He spoke of ?getting a coach and staff in here? to which the Knicks had to come out and say he wasn?t making coaching decisions. And this is your ?marketing/image guy? running off at the mouth on ESPN. It?s our typical Knicks mess alreadyšŸ˜. As we always say ?fish sticks from the head.? Make Dolan sell the team NBA. Jim Dolan is not fit to a NBA owner like Donald Sterling. All-Star weekend is coming and two cornerstone NBA franchises (Knicks/Bulls) are irrelevant because of bad ownership/management.

No doubt. The idiot Stout spouting out on ESPN.. does he need the attention? Is he still
sore bc P-Diddy beat him up? What a clown! His first public act is to undermine Miller with 30 games to go?

Then we find out WOrld Wide Wes won?t be joining the org. I don?t want Rose without WWW!

Less than a week into our new era and it?s already crumbling. You can?t make this stuff up.

But on Tuesday, Stoute appeared to have overstepped his responsibilities during a TV appearance and alluded to future personnel changes.

?There had to be a change in [firing team president Steve Mills]. That change will bring a new coach and new coaches that are going to help develop these younger players,? Stoute said. ?And they got some young players?you see RJ Barrett, Mitch Robinson. They got something to work with. And getting a coach in there and ultimately getting a coach and a coaching staff that?s going to help develop a team. That?s what I expect to happen so that we can actually get to what you expect from a New York team."

Hours after the appearance, the organization commented on Stoute's remarks.

"While Steve Stoute is a valued contributor to the Knicks' marketing and branding efforts, he does not speak on behalf of New York Knicks personnel and basketball operations," the team said in a statement. "Any decisions regarding the operations of the team will be made by the new President of the New York Knicks."

So Dolan hires a guy to make the org look cool. Barely a month or so later he publicly humiliated your org to such a point you have to put out a press release. Lol. Unbelievable. Can we get our money back?

This guy, Stoute, man, as others have said, WTF? When your ?PR specialist? can?t do an interview properly, you know you?re being scammed.

Maybe Stoute should have kept his mouth shut but havenā€™t we all been complaining about Mills for years starting with competing with himself for THJ and Baker and paying them overvalued contracts, I still laugh when he called Ron Baker one of the building blocks of the Knicks. Not sure where heā€™s playing these days but the Knicks made him a millionaire when he was a second tier Gleaguer at best.

I think Perry is a goner, heā€™s only here because someone needs to mind the store, heā€™ll be let go as one of Mills guys or be demoted to head of scouting which he probably wonā€™t accept. Craig Robinson needs to be axed with the young guys showing no improvement this year other than ironically Nits who has but only marginally so. I forget some of the others that Mills brought on when he was installed as the a President but they should go in a reorganization as well. I heard Rose was a nice guy but he needs to put aside that nice guy reputation and use his contacts to install high quality people replacing those in the front office currently.

Hire a music guy to help branding a sports team (who is valued already at 4 Billion, most in NBA)...

Hire an agent to run a team....

These just next 2 losers to steal money from Dolan, hires to do something they?ve never done before.

We have more experience running a team!

A Blurb from SI:

It?s another instance of the Knicks putting a Band-Aid on an ax wound. Everyone outside Madison Square Garden knows the reason the Knicks aren?t perceived as cool or an attractive free-agency destination is because their owner is a moron who hires other morons and continues to run the worst organization in the NBA.

No offense to Stoute, who seems to be a successful businessman, but the idea of comparing himself to Drake is laughable. Drake is a world-famous musician admired by every player in the NBA and a large segment of fans. Stoute is a guy whose r?sum? (CEO of a marketing firm, founder of a music streaming agency and author of The Tanning of America: How Hip-Hop Created a Culture That Rewrote the Rules of the New Economy) appeals to the suits in charge, not the players or fans. But hey, you have to respect him for convincing James Dolan to pay him a bunch of money for his services.

Congratulations to the guy charged with improving the Knicks? public perception on causing a PR disaster on his first day.

Then again:

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.fo...ntimately-involved-with-knicks-source/amp/Yes

Wesley is still expected to consult with Rose and help the Knicks while avoiding official scrutiny from the NBA. Just this past weekend, Wesley was with Rose and Rod Strickland of the G League watching the SMU-Temple game. After the game on Saturday, Wesley and Strickland went to the prestigious Metro Classic in Toms River, N.J. to watch top high school players, including Bronny James. Several of the players at the event are projected NBA lottery picks in 2021 and beyond. The Knicks have seven first-round picks across the next four years.

?He?s going to get all the players,? the source said. ?The NBA is coming up with new rules all the time to prevent tampering and tanking. Wes is a guy who?s shown he can?t be regulated.

?He?s always been living in the shadow world. He?s an owner, but he?s not an owner. He?s an agent, but he?s not an agent. He?s an investor, but he?s not an investor. In this day and age of constant news, he?s kept a cloak of anonymity. Who else has done that in this modern age??

The source pointed out that Wesley?s relationship with Rose would be similar to the role Isiah Thomas has played with Knicks owner Jim Dolan ?for years.?

?Isiah Thomas has had that role for years,? the source said. ?He was a consultant to Dolan for years.??

The source said it was smart of Rose and Wesley to leave one of them outside of an official affiliation with the Knicks ?so they?re not caught up good or bad in whatever happens with the Knicks.?

I think Stout, over-heard the Knicks stock-brokers talking bout FIRING Miller no matter how well he does this season.
What made me more upset, was no one in MSG made a noise bout Fizdale's foolish coaching, and the bust coaching-staff Miller inherited.

Its the Coach! Rick Carlisle coaching system had DSJ looking good for 2 seasons.
I recall Shaq & Kobe couldn't win a playoff series for 2 seasons, the same season Phil Jackson coach the two stars they won a championship.
If the Knicks would've traded Trier to the Clippers with Morris, coach Doc would've added a lot of passing in ISO-ZO performance to make Trier a legit scorer.

MEM won tonight... they?re now 28-26, and have the 8th spot locked in with a commanding 5 game lead with 30 games to go.

Two years ago they fired Fizdale and entered their rebuild.

Jax feel into their hands... lottery gold... Make some trades to accumulate assets... Boom... ping pong magic bestows them with a gold ticket... JA... A stud PG... They shrewdly snag Brandon Clarke in the draft... now they are relevant and poised for a playoff appearance.

Are we that close or just that unlucky? If the draft fortune somehow grants us a stud PG this draft... with RJ, MRob Randle and Frank.... who knows what awaits next season?

Or... Are we doomed To Endure another lost decade?

First of all to answer some of your questions. We don't even know the real problem of this team. EVERYBODY seem to think that a PG is our problem and that will solve EVERYTHING!! Well, guest what that isn't the problem with the Knicks. We as an organization( and some fan) don't even how to analyze our team. Example -- Last year draft-- What was the GREATEST need for the Knicks? Was it PG, NO...Was it SG, NO... Was it SF, NO. See where I am going with this. The GREATEST need was at PF!! But what do we draft? RJ!! This is the reason other team can do well and we are stuck on STUPID!!

Just look at all the back talk I get when it comes to RJ. Now all of a sudden it becoming apparent that what I was saying is true. In last year draft condition we should have traded back, YEAH, YEAH, YEAH!! In another post it was mention that NO ONE called the Knicks about the #3 pick, Why?? Then in another post it was said that JA is better than RJ. That in itself shows the drop off of talent in last years draft or the sorry state the draft was in overall, very weak.

"Are we that close or just that unlucky"? Answer... We are close if the right people are bought back into the organization. Go back to last time you saw hope(KP, Frank, Knox, Dotson, Rose, Kornet and Beasley, etc). Who was responsible for those players? You know the answer. "Just that unlucky"... No just that STUPID!! How in the hell do you run off the man that won more championship that anyone in the NBA? Then you bring in people who have never lead a recreation league team to a championship and put them in control. We have fan in this forum who think they are smarter than C. Gaines, SERIOUSLY!! This is what happen to Mills/Perry they thought they were smarter than Gaines and now you see what we as fan have to endure.

Gentleman, there are few people who know and understand 'Real BB'. That is a very strong statement but very true. Our problem had been in the wilderness of losing we have had only one people who knew something about winning(know and understand 'Real BB'). What is so surprising is that look at the number of people(F.O and Fans) that think they know just BB not to mention 'Real BB'. Let hope that Dolan has made the right choice for President. But let me tell you this that if there aren't some people that know 'Real BB' then we are not going to be any better wins/loses. Hey, but we will be COOLER(for whatever in the hell that mean when it comes to BB).
