His 3 pt pct was good not great at 36%, that distance percentage goes back to his Auburn days, kid this small has a better chance being a 40% shooter from distance to make it. He’s described as a shooter on YouTube but I would rather have kept Trier for his shooting to tell you the truth.
    I like his 4th Qtr. performance !!!

He looks like he can score at all 3 levels. I like bringing in competition. I just hope a few emerge or we risk getting in this everybody plays and nobody plays nonsense and nothing meaningful is developed for the future.

Let’s go. We mean business now. Lol.

Of course, Perry would’ve been derelict in his duties if he didn’t investigate what ATL and NO were prepared to offer for the 3rd pick, even if we loved the top 3 prospects above all else.

Now, BI was a restricted free agent, so imagine if we dealt third pick for BI... got 1 season... then he signed elsewhere this year or next? Yikes! I would love for us to make a run at BI tho!
I could see NO saying they weren't going to dealt BI now... Today. Before this year were he had a broke out season and the draft. I would've had to see how bad they wanted RJ. It all goes back to nobody called us and we didn't call anybody.

Well it obvious that Perry is a derelict and from what we can see he didn't investigate or Enquirer about ATL or NO.

I don't think we have hesitated in making him a max deal now. We would have no choice but to do it. I would be on board. Do you think we should make a run at BI? I like him but he isn't a cornerstone player to build around. A very good player that I saw him being but not a cornerstone player. Wiseman could be that cornerstone Player.

You cut a proven scorer in Trier for a kid that is 5'11" scorer. If you feel like he that good then let Ellington or Bullock or Harkless or Payton. But Trier!!!

Right or wrong, a new exec is always gonna turn over a roster. Makes sense he would start at the back end of the rotation. Rose will better BG un his players.

Trier being let go probably had as much to do with his selfish ISO rep than his playing ability. Kid better be a great scorer because this kid is going to have trouble covering anyone at 5'11", let alone being able to switch on to bigger guys.

Wsup Mafra .. It seems there are only a couple of NBA teams following the Knicks owner James Dolan NBA philosophy, by letting their new hired GM, or new president change the entire player roster within a two year time by replacing half the roster with 1 yr. contract players each season.

I would like to Know what Knicks players are KEEPERS for the next full season?
    1) Randle's contract makes him a Knick the next 2 seasons .. a C- minus performance.
    2) RJ Barrett will be a Knicks throughout his rookie contract .. 3rd pick, Grade C- performance.
    3) MitchRob will receive a 4 yr extension having a B+ plus performance.
Other than the 3 players above .. Rose will have excess to get rid of the rest of the Knicks player roster within the next 2 seasons.

P.S. The Pelicans SF-Ingram selfish performance need Zion's star all-around performance in every lineup to become a complimentary player on both sides of the court the next 2 seasons.
And the Knicks trading Trier when Trier's ISO performance were the best we had at the 2- spot on the roster. YES! I believe the Knicks would have had 10 more Wins in the 2019-20 season, if Trier would have had the rookie's Barrett's 32 minute playing-time at the 2 spot.

Knicks mailbag: Devin Booker emerging as potential trade candidate
    By Marc Berman July 4, 2020 | 9:20am

I’m surprised no one mentions Bradley Beal as a potential future “disgruntled star” that the Knicks could trade for. I feel like he could be perfect for the Knicks and actually worth giving up the future 1sts and some players. — Kevin M.

What about pursuing [Damian] Lillard? — John K Marescot

My initial exclusive Christmas story about the Knicks’ “disgruntled star’’ design mentioned Bradley Beal and Damian Lillard — along with Karl-Anthony Towns.

Despite a recent contract extension, Beal is contemplating not joining the Wizards for the Orlando restart — which could be a bad sign, though he cited concerns about potential injuries.

Lillard said during the pandemic, “I thought I was headed [to the Knicks] a few years ago. I was hearing trade rumors. The Garden is my favorite place to play.”

If scoring point guard Lillard asks for a trade, it’s believed the Knicks or Lakers would be his choices.

However, since Leon Rose was hired as president, the player to watch out for most is Suns combo guard Devin Booker, according to league sources. If Rose hires Tom Thibodeau, Towns — a former Rose client — no longer makes sense because of their history.

Booker and Towns were Rose clients who played at Kentucky, which means Knicks adviser William Wesley is close to each. Rose has done well with Kentucky standouts because of Wesley.

Submit your Knicks questions to be answered in an upcoming mailbag

Booker, 23, made his first All-Star Game in February. Recent rumblings are Booker could get tired of the perennial losing in Phoenix, which is run by a spendthrift owner in Robert Sarver.

“I think he’ll do unbelievable,’’ Booker said of Rose. “One of the most genuine guys I know. One of the most honest guys I know. So I’m happy for him in his new position. I think the Knicks are in really good hands.’’

The possible scheme to drive LaMelo Ball to Knicks in NBA Draft
Last week, Rose said he’s prepared to beef up the offensively challenged Knicks through “the draft, trades and free agency.’’

The last three Knicks top draft picks, [Frank] Ntilikina, [Kevin] Knox and [RJ] Barrett, all can’t shoot. Since the game has become basically a 3-point shooting contest, are they going to finally draft a shooter? — Jim P.

The Knicks have three picks in the top 38. Count on at least one of those picks to be a deft outside shooter. Ironically, their top priority at point guard, LaMelo Ball, is a poor 3-point shooter at the moment but does so many other things to ignite an offense. The hope is Ball — like his brother Lonzo — will develop into a decent perimeter shooter with diligent work. The Knicks’ priority this offseason is to add deep threats after shooting a mediocre 33 percent from 3-point land this past season.

How is [Tyrese] Haliburton considered the No. 2 point guard when many mock drafts consider him a secondary ball-handler? Kira Lewis is much better. — Alwyn Lerone Foy

    SEE ALSO

Knicks could steal 'Ja Morant Lite' late in NBA Draft
Rose said it best last week that after a couple of standouts, “a lot of equality” exists in the draft with varying opinions by scouts on more players than usual.

Rose was likely referring to the point-guard slot where beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Some scouts love Haliburton’s basketball IQ, outside shooting, playmaking and defense. But he’s not the kind of ball-handler who can race to the hole. That’s not his strength. Kira Lewis of Alabama, also a sophomore, is a sleeper with terrific speed and a great finisher who may find his way into the late lottery. Indeed, Haliburton and Lewis possess different strengths.

What can the fans expect from the new regime? — Leroy

Rose will talk about “relationships’’ all day long, citing that as key to recruiting free agents and making trades for players who want to be here. The best part of Rose is he realizes this is a new job after being a career agent and he listens to the basketball people around him.

Sounds like Rose will target Booker or Lilliard in a trade. IMHO, this is to make MSG an attractive option for Giannis.

I would prefer a move like this over throwing money at a RFA, hoping to steal them away (bc this means we are signing up for a bad contract).

I think our odds of getting Booker or Lilliard are very low, but, if Rose can pull it off, I’m not going to complain.

I would say very low as well... but Rose is armed with multiple assets, and for PHO and POR.... sending their disgruntled star to NYK is akin to vanishing the player to other end of planet, which makes it easier for them to swallow... then say... sending player to LAK.

I imagine 2 picks this year, future lottery, DSJ, Knox and Knits probably as far as Rose would Bend.

I imagine, MRob-RJ plus star is the triumvirate foundation Rose envisions, that will help attract a free agent.

    Giannis
    Booker
    MRob
    RJ

    That’s probably plan-A.

We shall see if Rose is capable.

Lilliard's a Super-Star from his first (rookie) season in the league.
I doubt Rose has the confidence or experience to get Lilliard into a Knicks uniform.
I would luv to get Lilliard, I believe a tandem of Lilliard & Frank Ntilikina would make a better winning backcourt than what the Lilliard & McCollum backcourt provided for the Blazers.

Rose could get Booker easy, because in Booker's 5 season in the league Booker has not showed to be a bright complimentary play-maker PG. Plus Booker's performance has done nothing to improve any of his teammates performance. A good reason to trade him.

Hypothetically .. The Knicks getting PG Booker's individual ISO services to put in the backcourt alongside RJ Barrett's individual ISO performance would make the Knicks ISO LOSERS again that cant play team-ball or defense in the 4th quarter for a win.

    Kiya,

Please say that last paragraph again.

Let leave those high price F.A. on there team or let someone else sign them. Take our cap space and spend it on the young players when they excel.
