Your boy Knits sunk two free throws to ice it, after my boy RJ choked his away...lol

RJ had those 6 points that turned the game around late in the 4th. Huge momentum swing.

Yes. That’s what made this win sweet. Randle proved to be best man on the court. Our All-Star bested theirs.... and RJ was a factor, especially in terms of closing. I could add, also, that Rose provided solid PG play (given the standard we’ve grown accustomed to from Duhon to Elfrid). Noel was solid and the team responded to adversity. This is a game they typically lose.

So, at 17-17, we head into the second half of the season ALIVE and in contention. Instead of jockeying for lottery position, we’ll be turning our attention to deadline acquisitions.

First game I thought Thibs played Rose too much .. 38 min, 17 pts, 11 ast, and 4 steals for a Knicks win.

RJ coming in the game to give us a quick 6 pts to take the lead, then RJ miss both clutch FT down the stretch having a Knicks 2 pt lead with Pacers having 15 seconds remaining in the game to tie or hit a 3 for the win .. RJ just pissed away all the good he did however, RJ Barrett's been missing clutch free throws since his days at Duke.

Thibs did great against Pacers coach Nate Bjorkgren, and Randle dominated over Sabonis tonight for a Knicks WIN! They suprise a lot of folks tonite for the win. The Randle & Rose thang ain't so bad when a merry of teammates offer help here n there on offense/defense .. Great Team Ball WIN tonight !!!

Noel looking hurt at the end of the game, Gibson hurt after 4 min into the game ..
Hypothetically .. Tomorrow Game vs 9-24 Detroit Pistons without Gibson & Noel & MitchRob in the rotation may come down to another 2 minute close game like tonight.
Rookie Obi Toppin and Keven Knox have to do a 360 in their performance by stepping-up their skill-level to become a BIG-MAN in the paint to grab defensive-rebounds, plus score on low-post put-backs to become a double-double player (like the NBA old SF & PF).

Rose thought he was a drafting a player who would soon supplant Randle as a starter when he used his 2020 lottery pick on power forward Obi Toppin, instead of a much-needed point guard.

Toppin’s rookie year can be summed up this way: He’s a good dunker, good enough to earn a Slam Dunk competition appearance. But that’s where it ends. Toppin, who has not been nearly as productive as anticipated, won’t be named to the Rising Stars Challenge roster.

Toppin even got benched Saturday for Kevin Knox as the small-ball power forward in the first half after Taj Gibson sprained his ankle. Toppin played just six minutes.

Rookie point guard Tyrese Haliburton, taken 12th and shining with the Kings, wasn’t high on Rose’s board when he picked Toppin.

Fortunately, Rose got another crack in the 2020 draft, because Perry had traded Marcus Morris 12 months ago to the Clippers for a late first-round pick. To his credit, Rose had vast Kentucky intel to make him comfortable grabbing Immanuel Quickley, when most teams had him slotted lower.

One of Rose’s few additions was a trade for point guard Derrick Rose, but that was more the president acquiescing to his head coach’s wishes. In a great stat, Thibodeau’s winning percentage with Rose on the roster is 63 percent. Without Rose, it’s 46 percent. Rose notched four steals Saturday.

“As a competitor, sometimes there are just individual matchups that you take – not personal like you don’t like the other guy - just personal from a competitive standpoint. So it was that,” Randle said.

The All Star forward also had been competing against Sabonis for a spot on the Eastern Conference team. On Saturday, he mostly outplayed Sabonis on both ends of the floor.
