RJ not on the top 125 NBA Players:

Again Sportswriters have left the Knicks so-called prize #3 draft pick off the top 125 NBA player, Why?? After receiving NO votes for the ROY. After not being named to any of the 3 All-Rookie teams(I know). And now this stub. Are the Sportswriters trying to tell the Knicks F.O. something? I think so!! That they see thru all of the B.S. and Hype that has been spread by F.O. From Draft night mistake of not trading back the TO preseason practices(suppose to be competition) TO the first game of that year which he started at PG and minutes into the game which to SG, etc, etc, etc.

So are there still some Sportswriters that are knowledgeable BB people out that know talent when they see it. Not a question. F.O. has done a nice job of spin to fans that don't know talent and take the word and judgement of there team PR. Even in this article the writer is trying to spin a good face. How do you get all of the Sportswriters to omit RJ from the ROY voting, From the 3 All-Rookie team and Now this. There needs to be a moment of silent to just take this in because it doesn't seem like this is a conspiracy. This isn't a good sign.

This F.O. is dead in the water for the next 5 years which is unfortunate. Maybe Dolan will see what Perry and L. Rose aren't the answers to our problems. No Real BB people!!

NY Knicks: Responding to RJ Barrett being left off The Athletic's top 125 players (dailyknicks.com)

Legend
RJ made great strides last year solidifying my hope that he becomes a future AS. Something he has that the sports writers never take into account in these ranking systems and a traits Mike Breen always mentions when talking about RJ is his maturity, intelligence and hard work, these traits are going to fulfill his playing potential.

Here is that full list of The Athletics top 125, to me RJ is as good as some of those on that list. IQ better than RJ currently? I doubt it.

Here is the Tiers list in full. Again, my apologies for not having made it clear earlier that within each sub tier, players are ordered alphabetically by first name rather than ranked. I regret any angst or confusion that may have caused.

Hawks have 4 guys that I saw on that top 125, Trae, Collins, Hunter and Huerter. RJ just as good and valuable as Collins, Hunter and Huerter to me. But maybe you should be a Hawks fan since you live down there Dark.

Tiger,
Thank you for all of the hard work that put into those chart. I truly mean that!!

Now if you can get that to all of the sportswriters that left him off the ROY, All- Rookie Teams and Top 125 it wouldn't make any different. We(Sportswriters and myself) are looking at TALENT not "Maturity, Intelligence and Hard Work". Those last 3 things aren't substitutes for Athleticism and Explosiveness. RJ doesn't process those qualities not THEN or NOW. I'm sorry to break the news to you but unless league give him an All Star selection he ain't making it when it comes to truly earning a spot. Again, those writers see exactly what I been telling you and other. RJ hasn't EARNED anything but given positions when he should have been on the far end of the bench. Let close with this about an All-Star selection it ain't worth 'Jack' now. Most of the star are slipping it to heal and rest up.

One more thing that is given to certain players. That is LEADERSHIP. He doesn't process that quality in the least. The team doesn't rally around him. They don't look at him when they come off the court when time out is called and the game is tight and they need a basket. The only player on the Knicks that process that quality is D. Rose, period.

Now for the Hawks fan statement:
Tiger, I probably been a Knicks fan longer than you been living. That doesn't give me anything special when it comes to other Knicks fan. It simple mean I know struggles that you don't know. I know talent because I was taught to see it from people who knew talent and pass it to me. I see very little that good from a team that I Love very much. All I see is a bunch of NO BB Knowledge people who run the Knicks and are driving them into the ground(I know you and other don't see that... and I understand that). You don't have to push me to become a Hawks fan the F.O. is doing a damn good job of that. I see nothing good for the Knicks for next 5 years then we start this same process of again. Tell me one knowledgeable BB person you know in the organization since JAX & C. Gaines left? Just one!! Do you think I want to see Stupidity and Incompetent from the F.O.? I'm about winning a championship since the last one and nothing else matter to me. Not going to playoff, not a player being an All Star or Most Improved. I started noticing the Hawks and how they were assembling talent. They have someone that knows BB. I'm not a big Trae fan or fan at all. See it Collins, Hunter, Huerter (and I thought they should have kept Spellman but they didn't) that make peak my interest. Collins is that team MVP in my opinion not Trae. If you were says become a Hawks fan to any other Knicks Fan beside me it would probably be very easy to do. I'm a true fan unfortunately... See in those struggles that I mention those are times when I truly need to be fan. You might not understand that but I know what it is to see a Knicks Championship. I don't see one in the near or distance future.

RJ Barrett was 47th in NBA in 3-point shooting %, right behind CJ McCullom and ahead of Malik Monk. He shot 40.1%.

They said he?d never be able to shoot the 3, and he improved in year 2 and made himself a top 50 3-point shooter.

I look forward to seeing where his game grows this year? I take RJ over Caruso and Bowen, easily.

It obvious all the things you guys say are true about 3pt shooting, etc. What is more obvious all of what you say doesn't seem to matter in those Sportswriters opinions or evaluations of RJ. I wonder why because certainly they see what all of you see. So can anybody put there finger on it?? WHY?? What is it that makes Sportswriters have such a low opinion of him and his BB skills?

Do you think it time for you to re-evaluate RJ talent? Maybe ask some very HARD questions of yourself and certainly about RJ?

Not getting a ROY vote is someone shaking you. Not making any of the 3 All-Rookie team you start steering around. Not being name to the Top 125 NBA Players should have you eyes wide open. Something is Wrong!!

RJ was top ranked HS baller in 2 classes, he led his college team to Regionals in NCAA Tourney, he started and played every game on a team that finished 4th in EC in just his second year, on a roster devoid of talent.

Who cares what a national writer thinks? It was obvious he was all rookie second or third team. He was hurt bc he payed on a baaaaaad team.

Who had a better season last year, Zion or RJ? DeAndre Hunter or RJ? How about Shamet or Bagley?

RJ will probably be dealt to get Dame, so who really cares. I don?t love RJ the player, but I recognize the fact that of all our recent lottery picks?. RJ Barrett the biggest hit. KP? Doesn?t have the will to be great. Frank and Knox don?t have the talent.

What RJ excels at can?t be quantified by an ANALytcis guru.

Again, a 26 year old RJ is gonna be a force.

Did is only 21! People act Ike he?s a finished project. He already made y?all look silly after freshman year, bc critics claimed
He?d never be able to shoot FT or 3s.

So, if the question is? who was taken after RJ that we missed out on? I don?t see a player we missed on, and for the NYK who have a list longer than Santa of draft misses?. That?s saying something.

Did we pass on Donovan Mitchell or Kevin Porter Jr?

Who Cares?? All of you care if the situation was reversed. F.O. and yourself would be making a point of showing that he deserves to be starting and drafted as high as he did. No it obvious he isn't All-Rookie nothing and you can't prove it. Memphis(Ja) and Pelican(Zion) didn't make the playoff in 2019 - 2020 season... So what does that have to with anything. It base on talent not team success.

Who had a better season? Ok, for the sake of time let say RJ did. Now who earned there starting position(s)? Earn not given! Let see if you can be honest with me as I was with you!

RJ should have never been drafted by the Knicks and should have been trade for one of the top 3 draft position last year. We would be sitting here talking about Wiseman or Edwards and the future. Yes, KP are serious!! No matter what happen he was the light on the hill not the light in the valley(RJ). Just my opinion!! As for Knox and Frank and talent they both have more talent than RJ. Play them the same way they played RJ. Give him a position and then letting him play nearly 40 minutes a game when he should have been sitting on the bench next the water boy. Now if you going to compare Frank and Knox give them the same privilege's that would be fair. But you can't do that because the F.O. had no investment in neither Knox nor Frank so they did everything to hinder their success.

What does RJ excel in if it can't be quantified?

How is a 26 RJ going to be a force? He playing 40 minutes a game now and he doesn't effect the game in the least. Look at my Avatar is going to be something like him? That a force!!

Being 21 is a asset or excuse? Sound like an excuse. He is finish there no room to grow it over. Played him nearly 40 minutes a game to get those stat. It only 8 minutes left!! Maybe you forgot about TEAM!! Yes, TEAM!! He has missed ROY, ALL-ROOKIE TEAMS(3) AND TOP 125 PLAYERS and we look silly. We don't have to make excuses for him not making them... YOU DO!!

Miss out, let try all the ones drafted after him. Let try trading him for any of the top 3 spot in the last year draft(not this year). After Edwards dog him you should be ashamed that he walks out on the floor. And what did he do after Edward dog him... Nothing.... So much for your force.

Pass on Mitchell or Porter Jr? Well it two different answer. Mitchell - The person that won the most championship said NO. Until you find someone with better credentials I will take his word. Porter Jr. - Yes, that is Perry and Mills mistake because C. Gaines told them to trade back with Clippers for their 12 and 13 picks. We could have had both Knox and Porter Jr. but Perry didn't do what suggest because it came from Gaines.

I don?t believe you comprehend how math works. The more playing time for RJ, means more shots, and more shots is usually a bad thing for shooting %, unless you make them.

So, please explain how a 20 year old bust somehow defied the critics and shot 40.1% from downtown? How? He?s only 21 and he somehow transformed his 3-ball! That?s how.

Played 40 minutes a night and still shot 40% from downtown.

Top 50 in NBA?. That?s how good he was shooting it from Deep, and this without a PG, SG, C who could score.

Please show me report MIN would?ve dealt pick for RJ. I would swap the 2, if offered, but unless you have a partner? you left with your hand and your imagination.

When does Quantitative analysis you using math and stat's model to measure and research a behavior. It doesn't mention or have anything to with TALENT.

So when you say I don't comprehend Math I beg to differ. Math has nothing to do with it. BTW, Math was one of my better subject.

What you keep going around in circle about is you can't answer the question of why RJ is being left out of any conversation or awards that are being voted on? You keep bring up 3's etc and I have said ok if that your argument. Again why is he being left off of these awards? Simple question.... Do you have an answer or just maybe a thought?

When you are bad at something and you keep doing it over and over again. You at some point get the hang of it and become decent at it. That is what RJ was he was bad and F.O. said play him no matter what cost. He became decent.

Two things I mention the word 'Team' twice but no respond to that as to how he make the Knicks better. The other is the notion that by playing 40 minutes a game it mean he take more shots. Again I beg to differ with you. All it mean is that you on the floor for a most of the game. Does it mean you should be taking more shots, NO!! You may not have the hot hand. But in his case he is definitely not coming off the bench cold. The flow of the game dictate shots not minutes. Again, he just has the opportunity that is not afforded to other players at the expense of the team.

Why is it you always got to blame his lack of success on a scoring PG, SG or C. Maybe you forgot but he was the PG, Remember(what a disaster). Maybe you also forgot that he is listed as the current SG, or have you notice or have you switch his position again? So he is the SG so it shouldn't be a problem. As for Center maybe if you look at the F.O. that could have sign a scoring center in Cousins but didn't. That would have been the perfect match with D. Rose. But of course when you have none BB personal running you F.O. these are the mistakes you make. But that is what we are taking about is a MISTAKE, huh!!

There are no report that I know of about Minny and last year draft. How do you get a Transformative player if you don't put yourself in a position to draft one. Minny has KAT and others to form a contender for a championship. The Knicks have nothing close to KAT or any of their other players. So how do you get a player of talent of Wiseman and Edwards? Of course you enquire as to the availability of that draft pick. In our case you offer whatever they ask for in picks and definitely players. Now lets be clear, sound familiar, Minny probably didn't want a damn thing we had as far as players so the draft picks would've had to make the deal. Imagination and a BB person is what lacking in the Knicks organization. See we have no future of a championship because we have no one to take us there. Maybe you should think of 'TEAM' more than your praise of RJ. Remember BB is a TEAM sport not individual. I think you have forgotten or don't comprehend that fact.

RJ Barrett gets NO praise from me, his b.ball IQ is very LOW from being an individual-player, he's not a complimentary same-page player with any of his teammates on offense/defense.
Plus RJ Barrett has showed us Knicks fans repeatedly he have to many FLAWS in his inconsistent-performance to be considered a team player, or a starter for the Knicks.
My evaluation come from RJ Barrett being the Knicks only rookie to receive 30 plus minute of playing-time in every game for two consecutive season.
RJ Barrett has never showed one performance in the Summer League games or Pre-season games or regular season games that earned him 30 minute of playing-time, or earned him a starter-position.
Being Knicks GM Perry's 3rd pick in the 2019 draft earned RJ Barrett those luxuries, under three head-coaches in 2 seasons. RJ Barrett were a FLOP in the playoffs!
The Knicks two 2nd round draft picks this offseason (McBride & Grimes) showed more grit and hustle to win on both sides of the court in the SL games than RJ Barrett showed in two seasons.

Having a back-court trio lineup of Kemba, Evans, and Bullock's all-round hustle to make their performance more creative throughout the season.
Or .....
Having a backcourt trio of Kemba, Barrett, and Evans representing a 3 guard offensive lineup for 30 min per game .... That trio will need a very good offense/defense coach on their back throughout the regular season to stay a .500 team.

What I thought was interesting was in several articles and online. They were saying the new Knicks backcourt is Walker and Evan. So what happened to last year SG? RJ!!
So now he must be the SF, huh?? If so then this is third position in 3 years. Don?t understand if he is that good at SG how is Evan getting his job or position?
Can any of you Pro-RJ fan please explain 3 different positions in 3 years?
Also he was great according to all of you last year at SG so how is he losing his position?

That second question is very dangerous. Give you hint?. Trier and Dotson!! Good Luck

Kemba not a sports writer but he believes in RJ:

Speaking on the young Barrett, Walker detailed his growth and come-up from the high school level.

?I?ve just been a fan of him. When he was in high school I saw him play and I saw his highlights and stuff like that, I?ve always been a super-big fan of him. Playing against guys like RJ, the first thing I noticed was how hard he plays, it?s not even the skill. ? That?s a real talent, playing hard. So I?m looking forward to just helping those guys a little bit more, teaching them the ropes. Just being a vet.?

C'Mon Man!!
"How hard he plays, it’s not even the skill. … That’s a real talent, playing hard". It not even the skill?? If you notice it not plural(SKILL)... so would I be wrong in saying it one skill, correct? Then "That's a real talent, playing hard"... Well is it or isn't it a talent?

This sound like Walker is trying real hard to find something good to say about RJ. The only thing he can come up with is that "He plays Hard". Not that RJ is explosive going to basket... Not that is a great 3 pt shooter(now this is what you been harping on).... Not that he is a great/good/decent defender... Not that he can create his own shoot.... But that HE PLAYS HARD, GREAT!!

If you follow someone growth and playing High School level. And you saw him play you have more to say than he just 'He Plays Hard'. You speak to a game or games when he did this or that. You talk about the impact he had on the game or games.

Wonder did Walker lobby Boston to trade up to draft RJ?

BTW, there are 3 other questions in my last post on page 1. Maybe you miss them.

The tandem backcourt of Kemba & Barrett as Knicks starters are questionable to me throughout the offseason. I'm just hoping our starter back-court don't turn into the old Charlotte Hornets having Kemba Walker & Gerald Henderson depending on center Al Jefferson performance for a Hornets win.

Everything I seen says Walker and Fournier is the new backcourt. So that means RJ is moving to SF. How does the offense work now?? Grind it out, huh.
