    Default Redrafting 2019:

Saw this the other day and not sure if anybody else saw it. Interesting take on hind-sight of course where player would be pick if the draft was held today.

2019 Redraft: NY Knicks land a flawed potential superstar (dailyknicks.com)

Maybe some will have a different view and if so post it.

    Ja Morant definitely at #1.

Brandon Clarke at #2? C’mon. He barely plays. I don’t see how he’s done enough to be considered 2nd best player in that draft class. I used to love advanced metrics, now I hate them. Advanced metrics are useless to me if a player doesn’t even play 20 minutes a game. Who knows what that player would actually do in 30 to 35 minutes every night?

If Zion is healthy, he’s #2 from that draft. Maybe he’ll never be healthy, so then I guess he shouldn’t even be #3 if he never plays.

I’m not taking the bait on RJ. He still goes #3.

    Tyler Herro probably at #4.

The players are being ranked by Win Shares, box plus/minus, and value over replacement player.

These stats have value but again, how can you compare 2 players on 2 different teams where one plays a large role and the other plays a smaller role?

Analytics is fun for some people, but it misses a big chunk of the story.

Anyone ever seen a player be awesome in a bench role but **** the bed as a starter playing twice as many minutes? I feel like I see it all the time.

    Hey Htr,
It isn't bait!! It's what your eyes see. As it stand now can you truly say, 'Yeah, he's a #3'? Last night you just saw a Grand Canyon of different between #2 and #3. One is a definite leader, and one can't say let lead!

Before your statement about taking the bait. You mention about playing time. Well, in #3 case you got more playing time than you deserved or earned.

Just be fair... if Clarke is a no at #2 because of not playing enough. Then RJ should be what for not earning playing time?

Go ahead, take a 15 minute per game role player at #3 overall. See if I care.

I just thought it would be interesting to provide some context for how these 3 stats pan out for guys we regularly watch given that they are the stats that were used for this re-draft article.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder:

Two of many examples that have RJ 3rd, still, even 2 years later after a redraft. Come back in 2024..: RJ may be 2nd?

Put BC on NYK and RJ with Ja and I wonder how stats look then.

Lets remember if the Sixers did not take Okafor instead of KP we would have another super bust.

The Melo trade marked the doom for the Knicks.......why could the guy just not wait and sign with us in the off season.........

What average NBA player could not Pad his stats given 35 to 40 minutes of playing time, plus the Green Light to shoot 16 to 21 shots per game.

The Denver Nuggets did the same thing for their 3rd draft pick Carmelo Anthony his first 4 yrs in the league, and all his Nuggets teammates had nothing but hate for Melo. The Nuggets team would have a 50 win season, and never get passed the first round of the playoffs. Billups & Jason Kidd were mad at them selves when they took Carmelo pass the first round of the playoffs.

How are RJ Barrett's hustle performance on the court, plus getting teammates involve on offense/defense ???
