Default So now what? NO DM:(

I guess I should be used to blown draft picks and free-agent misses being a Knicks fan. I actually thought the brain-dead Fail-Jackson pick of Frank over DM could be wiped away! We were the odds on favorite all the NBA insiders said. Well NBA insiders don’t know **** and the Cavs snuck in the back-door. Not only do we not get DM but he ends up in the East so the Cavs just leapfrogged us. So the RJ extension is really just window dressings to cover that Leon Rose played poker with Danny Ainge and lost. Well of course Rose lost because Danny Ainge is an experienced NBA executive and Leon Rose is a glorified agent pretending to be a GM. So Rose botched the draft and now free agency as well. Typical Knicks GM: LOSER. I’m glad RJ signed his extension and Brunson was a nice pickup. But Brunson is going to look a lot different in a Knicks uni without All-World Luka drawing double and triple teams. This team will struggle to make the playoffs. Take us off the XMAS schedule please so my morning is not ruined with a Knicks blowout loss. Rant over

Steve Kerr, now Danny Ainge has USED the Knicks to make their $$$ price !!!

Full trade: Utah is trading Donovan Mitchell to Cleveland for Lauri Markkanen, Ochair Agbaji, Collin Sexton, three unprotected first-round picks and two pick swaps LOL
The Cleveland Cavs just became a 2nd round playoff team in the eastern conference.

How will Leon Rose explain the 2022 Knicks offseason ???
Over paid Brunson & Barrett struggling to make the play-ins LOL

on the other hand, we retained all our young talents who looks promising, and we upgraded the guards position with Brunson. At least on paper, we are much better team than last year. for me, building your own team is better than repeating the Melo trade.

Sad part is it’s not hard to fill the seats at MSG even with a bad team on the court. Absolutely right this team will struggle to make the play-in and Ainge used the hell out of the Knicks to get his price from the Cavs. Um um um ????

Knicks used Utah to get RJ to settle for 70 mil less than the rookie max he was due. That is nice… not all is lost.

Brunson and Grimes should benefit too

Barrett did not earn an extension when Fournier, Burks, Quickley, and even the 2-Way rookie Grimes all played better than Barrett at the SG spot.
Being that Donovan Mitchell's top talents are as a high scoring combo-guard.
The only Knicks players Leon should've offered were 3rd pick SG Barrett, and SG Fournier, plus 3 unprotected picks. Yes or no?

First thing that should happen is that NBA should announce that all team who don’t make playoffs will share the same odds to win the top pick, thus eliminating any edge a team might garner by losing… winning 17 games or 37… you be in the same lottery odds boat.

Do not award SA and Utah for their blatant attempts to rank for Wamby.

NBA prevented Zion or JA from
Becoming a NYK in 2019. Months before the draft, in FRB, Adam Silver went on record:

“I, personally, don’t think it’s a winning strategy over the long term to engage in multiple years of rebuilding,’’ said Silver, who lives in New York. “There’s a mindset that, if you’re going to be bad, you might as well be really bad. I believe personally that’s corrosive for those organizations.”

Silver tried to curtail tanking, with smoothening the draft lottery odds.

Starting with the 2019 selection show, the three worst records will own even 14-percent odds, although whoever owns the worst record can only fall as low as fifth, second can land sixth, and third can go seventh.

Wsup Mafra .. We actually have NBA teams (Lakers & Knicks) who's fan base keep their stadium as the top one to five most sell-out crowds each season, whether its a 17 win season or a 31 win season.
The past decade the Knicks/Rangers MSG has been averaging a Top-3 sell-out crowd each season in the NBA/NHL. The Dolan$$$$$$ !!!
No Top-3 pick in the NBA draft are gonna complain bout being selected by the Dolan$ Knick$.
However, the way the Knicks organization been run (mismanagement) the past two decades, every NBA star FA in each offseason has refuse to sign on as a Knicks. Why?
In the past two decades, the number of star-players that were traded to the Knicks .. should've warned millions of Knicks fans that all-star Donovan Mitchell has some say-so in his trade (and the Dolan Knicks are a no-no).

Now teams like the Sacramento Kings & Washington Wizards consistent losses each season throughout the past two decades has been having problem getting the Top-5 NBA draft picks to come work out before the draft. Plus every offseason no NBA star FA take their call.

Leon Rose are a sports scout, he is not a NBA GM !!!
Ainge used him like a puppet on a string.
In the previous 2021-22 Knicks season the Knicks had six SG on the roster in
    1) RJ Barrett
    2) Fournier
    3) Burks
    4) Quickley
    5) Grimes
    6) Kemba's knees
And in the 2022 offseason Leon Rose skipped the draft .. Signed a 6.1 FA PG Brunson for a 4 yr $104 contract, then waste two months of energy & lunches running after a trade that didn't happen for the 6.1 all-star SG Donovan Mitchell. Didn't Leon Rose sign 6.5 SG Fournier to a 4 yr $80M contract last offseason to take Barrett's job at SG. And Barrett's every game performance as the Knicks starter SF throughout the 2021-22 season made me sick to my stomach, had me missing SF Bullocks relentless hustle performance on both sides of the court each game.
Letting SF Bullocks go to the next team was a super bad move last offseason.

Word is EP and RB were best pals. So they dumped his support system. He has solid bond with Brunson… maybe that helps him rebound and bounce back.

What said in theory is 100% correct. The last half of your last sentence speaks volumes and I couldn’t agree with you more. It’s to bad more in this forum would see the benefit of building a team thru the draft and not buy/trade for one.

Just one thing… I said in theory… the reality is the F.O.(everybody) couldn’t build a team if Jabbar and Wilt was on the board and it our pick.

At least you have an idea(good one).

As an ole Red Holzman & Willis Reed Fan, I must say this about the millennium Knicks ..
In the year 2022, the Knicks organization hasn't change it's spots or stripes or colors in the past 22 seasons. It still looks like the owner Dolan family are still behind all the decision-making in the Knicks offseason, and regular season games.
The Knicks many different GM, and different head coaches in the past 2 decades still has the same results each Knicks season as if owner Dolan is the GM, and the head coach .. Never on the Same-Page for a Knicks win win season.

The first time in a very long time, the Knicks gave a 4 yr extension to one of their rookie contract player (It's been decades). Now, I can call RJ Barrett a BUM-BUST player because his talent/skills and 3 season performance never earned a starter spot, or above 30 minutes a game, or an extension.

The Dallas Mavs did not loose any sleep in the offseason when they loss their FA PG Brunson to the Knicks, having three different types of combo-guards on the Mavs roster to replace a 6.1 Brunson at the PG position in Luka, Dinwiddie, and our old friend Frank.
It will be something if the (ex-Knicks) Mavs team have another 50 win season, and this time without Brunson?
The Knicks should've traded Randle for Dinwiddie in February, before the Mavs traded KP for him LOL

The Knicks sport scout Leon Rose, refuse to resign the Knicks 6.6 starter SF Reggie Bullocks to a $50M 4 yr contract after being the Knicks 2nd best starter in the 2020-21 season. But gives RJ Barrett a 4 yr $120M extension after performing less than half of Bullocks winning performance. Bullocks help his new team get to the Western Conference Finals last season. While RJ Barrett's BUST performance as a wing made us get rid of another starter PG.
The Knicks replacing SF Bullocks with RJ Barrett at the starter SF spot in the 2021-22 season made the Knicks entire starter lineup perform like LOSERS throughout the regular season games.
The Knicks 2nd unit bench lineup headed by D.Rose & Taj Gibson out-perform the Knicks starters in all of the first 20 games of the regular season giving the Knicks a 11-9 record because of the poor performance of the Knicks starters each game receiving the majority of playing time minutes.
RJ Barrett extension are the same as the Melo trade .. A 40 minute CANCER player that makes his teammates perform terrible !!!

The Knicks have several dynamic winning young players on the roster (MitchRob, Sims, Obi Toppin, Quickley, Grimes, and McBride), that could make the Knicks a future winning team, if the Knicks could get rid of the CANCER players .. RJ Barrett & Randle !!!

If u recall the Melo trade .. then u would know every NBA team told Denver to go suck.
The more Denver search the league for a trade of Melo, rumor n gossip went around the league of Melo being a cancer to his teammates. NBA GM stayed away from Melo. That's why non-basketball owner Dolan thought Melo was a prize, and went to Denver to make the trade.
Because GM Walsh (2010 plan) were suppose to bring Lebron to NY, or sign two star FA, which Walsh could not do. He signed Amare & Felton who got the Knicks rotation to perform at a .500 level having a win win team-chemistry in the rotation. Which the Knicks owner Dolan destroyed the team chemistry by trading several chemistry players for a individual cancer Melo.

The Knicks has been in desperate NEED of a starter PG, since 2011-12 when the Knicks refuse to resign LinSanity.

As for the Donovan Mitchell trade .. Do the Knicks need any more SG ???
Or does adding a young All-Star player to the Knicks roster sounds good throughout the offseason gossip/rumors?
Although, Donovan Mitchell plays much taller than his 6.1 height, he's best use at the SG spot off the ball.
The Knicks 3 biggest position that needed preparing (Fix) in the offseason are the
    PG (Brunson/D.Rose) Grade B
SF (Barrett?? Cam???) Grade C- minus
PF (Randle?? Obi) Grade C+ plus
The SG rotation of Fournier, Quickley, and Grimes Grade B+ plus
The Center rotation of MitchRob, Hart, and Sims Grade B+ plus

I rather have Brunson & 6.6 Fournier as the Knicks backcourt starters
And 6.2 D.Rose & 6.3 Quickley as the Knicks backcourt Closers
