to all u isiah fans:

name ONE trade where isiah actually got the better of the other gm. cuz i can name a bunch where he was the one that got suckered.

and yeah, he was able to get larry brown, it cuz he could afford to make him the highest paid coach, and cuz its NY and larry always wanted to be in ny, not because of isiahs persuasive skills.

yeah, he got marbury, but he took on pennys contract and gave up some young guys and picks....and really, a lot of other gm's coulda made that trade if they were the gm of the KNICKS and not some small market team.

yeah, he got curry, but same thing..other gm's cant afford to do it.

so basically, name ONE THING ISIAH has done that makes u say, wow, he did something special that nobody thought he could do.

the only thing ill give him is his ability to draft guys..hes gotten steals in ariza, nate, and lee...or so it seems at this point in their careers.

When the Spurs drafted Manu at #55 were you instantaniously blown away by what they had just done? My guess in no because he didn´t come to the NBA for 3 or 4 years. How about when they got Parker at 28? Or when they signed Bruce Bowen? But when they sign Brent Barry it´s the greatest move ever, but he backs these guys up.
Further, saying Isiah got lucky getting Larry Brown is true, but at the same time how lucky were the Spurs that Robinson got hurt and Duncan stayed in school and the ping-pong balls bounced their way? Or the Bulls that some guy was dumb enough to take Bowie over Jordan because he already had Clyde Drexler.

When Joe Dumars sent Grant Hill to the Magic for Ben Wallace did you think he had gotten the better of the deal? At the same time, did you think the Magic would be a championship contender for years to come? When he signed Chauncey Billups for the MLE did you forsee him being the Finals MVP? Were you laughing at the Wiz for trading Rip for Stackhouse? And did you know Tayshaun was going to be a steal? Was Joe Dumars getting Larry Brown after he stepped down in Philly (presumably knowing damn well he was on his way to Mo-town) due to his persuasive skills or because Larry Brown knew he had pieced together one hell of a team?

How about you wait to see how things play out before deciding which GM got the better of the deal. I cannot predict the future and Isiah might well have gotten hosed (not as though that´s not obvious when you acquire a player with a heart condition), but only time will tell.

Relating to the Curry thread: Do Malik Rose and Mo Taylor really have to go just because "dr. carpy" says so? Rose is now our best rebounder and a hardworking team leader. If Curry´s health fails him Taylor is suddenly our best low-post option. And if Frye and Lee are not ready to contribute they are both extremely valuable.

Billy Beane does a hell of a job in Oakland, but if he´s the Yankees´ GM do you think he keeps the ´payroll at an Oakland level? Do you think he passes on A-Rod and the Big Unit because they´re expensive?
Because the Knicks make more money then any team and no one would pay to watch Dolan vs Thomas go one on one, are the players not entitled to their fair share? Also worth noting that Isiah is a favorite among players. When the Pacers fired him Jermaine O'Neal was pissed, Shaq gave Isiah´s daughter his All-Star ring, and while resigning Vin Baker looked stupid he was keeping his word. If/when Isiah has a chance at acquiring a big name, they will jump at the chance to play on his team.

Wow dude. Just cant stand the man can you... Name one thing? Okay hater, again, let's reflect:
2003-2004
Coach:: Don Chaney
C Dikembe Mutumbo/Michael Doleac/Slavko Vranes
PF Kurt Thomas/Mike Sweetney/Othella Harrington/Maciej Lampe/Antonio Mcdyess
SF Keith Van Horn/Shandon Anderson/Clarence Weatherspoon
SG Allan Houston
PG Howard Eisley/Charlie Ward/Frank Williams

In other word a roster that was slow, undersized, and old, a great combination, eh? Just two short years ago, I would never had thought that the Knicks would be even relevant for at least a generation. Now, at least we have hope. So, in short, that one thing has been has been to infuse youth, excitement, and most importantly hope. And you are so blind with hatred that you cite two rookies in nate and lee that you haven't even seen play on this level (except possibly summer league) as things he has done right! One question, were you as critical of the previous joke GMs.

of course he is gonna be able to improve that roster!!! EVERY team HAS to improve, or else it is getting worse. in this league, if u dont make any changes, and u are staying te same, it means u are getting worse.

he has not made a good DEAL. yes, he has INCREASED the payroll, and given up EXPIRING contracts of old guys to overpay or get overpaid average players that are young, such as Qrich or JCraw. anybody can say "look i traded away old guys who had contracts taht were expiring and got players that were average or barely above avg that nobody else really wanted because they make too much money". that doesnt take any skill.

Okay Hater. Every team has to improve? Another indication of your blind hatred for Zeke. Look around the NBA: Toronto, Milwakee, Atlanta, New Orleans (and the jury is out on Golden State and the Clippers)... These teams have been sorry for a while dude. I do not agree with EVERY move Zeke has made, but it is grossly apparent that you, along with a lot of media talking heads, simply have something against him. Did Checkets or Layden EVER improve the roster, despite having the same unlimited resources? Were you as adamant about your hatred for them? And by the way, you don't think franchises such as the Lakers have the same unlimited resources to play with... And, each player speaks about the respect they have for him and that his presence alone raises their level of play and expectations. Few GMs (West, Mullin etc.) command the same respect from the players. Does that stand for anything. I guess not if you are just a hater...

the acquisition of Larry Brown is Isiah's best achievement as GM.

o'rly?

yeah considering the mess he came into, he got us younger, more athletic, faster and much more exciting. sure he took on some bad contracts but that was part of the other deals (generally). in the long run hell make us great again, esp w larrry

LOL....
