Wilson Chandler may guard VC because of his great defense last game
Vincanity will probably bring his usual game

This will be one of Wilson's last chances before the regular season to prove he deserves a spot in the line-up. The play Boston New Jersey Miami and Philly before opening tip-off. Stephon Marbury will also have to prove to knicks fans that he is what he worked for this offseason. Curry should get good minutes today because D'Antoni needs to know just how bad he is. D'ntoni will evaluate many pkayers today because today if their first game against a bad team. The Nets are a quick team so D'Antoni's run and gun won't work as well as it did against Boston. Look for Randolph, Marbury, and Chandler to have good games. Maybe Jeome James will get some minutes. This could be his last day as a Knick, along with Rose and Grunfeld. Mardy Collins might get minutes, and if he does, Harris will destroy him. Duhon will not have a good game, Harris is just too good on d. Marbury will know just how to get past Harris and drive to the basket. No, Robinson will not score 19 points again. Randolph will have the high score today..

Chandler is the key player

god thread JPZ....Chandler is the man to watch even though this is more of a CHandler appreciation thread lol.....just kidding but on the real The Knicks should win by 20 points. We beat Boston and Boston beat the Nets by a lot.

The only possible advantage the Nets have is if Lee stays out with the sprained ankle he had from last game, which I think won't be a problem. Put Chandler on Carter and we can blow out this team. Bobby Simmons should get a second look...he can shoot.

My problem is that Q Rich is still starting. Make him a bench player and let his contract die out while Chandler plays more minutes and gets better.

Good thread JPZ, thanks for gettin this thread started for MSG. This should be a good game, as everyone knows the Nets are our cross river rival, i also agree that the chandler vs carter match up will will the key the match up for the game. I think chandler can definitely defend carter and he still will be able to be offensively productive. We beat boston, so beating new jersey shouldn't be a big deal. Hopefully we can put up strong numbers like we did against boston also, who knows maybe Nate the great will get hot from 3 point land again.

Yes my dude, bench Q!!!!! If Marbury is coming off the bench, why is this scrub starting?? Just cause he played well years ago in Phoenix, he is not the same player!!

Chandler had a college career-high 16 rebounds during a game against Dayton on Dec. 10, 2005. The 16 rebounds were the most by a DePaul freshman since Quentin Richardson had 16 against St Louis on Feb. 11, 1999.

The Nets have a 6.6 SG-Carter and a 6.11 SF-Yi, if Dantoni plays Chandler at the PF in this game to go against the Nets Rough house F/C- Swift, Sean, Ryan, Boone, Lopez, or Najera, then I see Wilson Chandler getting hurt this season under coach Dantoni.

It's one thing to have your SF get caught on a switch and have to defend a PF, but to assign your SF to defend half of the PF in the league are asking for an injury. Even Lebron James, Prince, Melo, Pierce, and T-Mac, dont test the waters of defending a PF unless its crunchtime and they are 6.9 and better.

Balkman do got it better on the Denver Nuggets, he dont have to bang bodies defending PF and Centers on the Nuggets.

Dont sleep on the Nets 6.6 Simmons, 6.7 Chris Douglas Roberts, and 6.11 Yi.

Good game thread jpz, except one thing: Chandler has already done far more then enough to prove that he deserves to start. At the same time, his competition couldnt be any weaker, even if it was glen rice outta retirement

Q-rich lost.

sorry msg, D'Antoni trusts Q a lot, it will take a lot for Chandler to start, even though he is doing way better

nice thread jpz17. this is gonna be fun watching Chandler shut down Carter on d and Chandler will have a good game offensively and he'll prove that he should be the starter on this team i dont see Q-Rich starting past december...this will be a good game nicely contested then we'll eventually pull away. and yea finally some major website notices were improving lmao...we're gonna be better than anyone expects us to be.if only we played some defense...we need more players like Lee and Chandler!

Lee's out for the game becuase of his ankle. Chandler's strarting at PF instead. Kind of a bummer because I was looking forward to seeing more of the Lee/Randolph combo, but let's see what Chandler can do with more minutes.

yes is much better picture quality wise.. but I don't like the announcers always talking nets. Chandler is doing good

All those Knick-Fans who wanted to pick Brook Lopez with the 6th pick was accurate, he was the best available player and the best pick for the Knicks who had a dead weight Jerome James for 3 years in a row.

Dantoni would luv to have the speed of PG-Devin Harris and the running legs of C-Lopez on this Knick Roster to go in a lineup with Nate, Chandler, and Lee.

Duhon and Marbury need to be our guards if Marbs is staying

Ive supported JCraw for a while, but dudes wayyy too streaky to be on this team...Duhon and Starbs seem to be on the same page everytime on the court

Curry keeps nailing his coffin closed with every shallow breathe down the court...he is slow-mo personified.

Chandler NEEDS to start

QRich is on his game tonight, which is about his 4 to 1 average...we get 3 mush games from him and one on...

I cant believe the difference between this year and the past 5...I KNOW its only pre-season, but after watching nearly every game the past two years after getting back in state, the ball movement, energy, shot making, defense, play calling, has ALL changed drastically...i really think we may hit 40-50w's this year. I'm not tryina sound too optimistic, but i dont see d'antoni letting these guys play at any less than this quality all year long, which leaves us lookin pretty f'n good imo.

oh and mardy collins dunk?! psssssh
