He is our best player...blah blah blah! Yes, as far as stats go he is indeed the best player on the Knicks. However, individual stats does not make a winner!

Marbury is a selfish immature baby with delusions of being as great as Michael Jordan. He does not have the mental toughness nor the basketball IQ to be the floor general on any serious contender. He will never be the focal point of a successful team, period! He may be an asset to a team that already has an all-star first and second option.

What the Knicks need is a true superstar not a washed up 31 year old with mental issues. Dantoni is correct for not playing him, releasing him or trading him. He will wait to see what options he has as the trade deadline approaches. If he can grab a true all-star by trading Marbury I'm sure he will jump on it. If nothing is available we can expect him to be cut after the deadline. Good riddance!

Until the Knicks obtain a true superstar we are doomed to mediocrity at best. The NBA is indeed a team game but needs to be spearheaded by a winning player that can take a game over while making his other teammates better. Sadly, Marbury has the ability to takeover an individual game but certainly does not make his teammates better hence why he is riding the bench.<o

We all know we need a superstar. Think thats the whole reason behind the 2010 plan.

So if the plan is 2010...who cares if we play Marbury? We should be doing exactly what we are doing...playing and developing our young players in the hopes they will develop into solid contributors to compliment a superstar when we sign him in 2010.

Gotta agree with TR1L on this. Don't see why there is such a call for Marbury to play when we are progressing fine without him. The guy is a cancer to the team and speaks of the mistakes of the past regime.

Post this on the Marbury "It's official' thread. I was bewildered at the amount of supporters that Marbury has considering such a lack of achievements in his under-achieving career. Especially in NY for christs sake. There's a lot of quasi-fans on here who value their opinions much more than the goal orientated decisions being made to better the franchise. A guy by the profile name of papa Joe seems to be one of the very few who agrees. It seems that this site can become like a little game of territorial alliances. I personally am all for the Knicks and Marbury quite clearly is not so his benching is fitting for his actions off court and his lack of satisfying consistent performances on it.

Feel free to leave this question unanswered.

Is Duhon really that ****ing bad? I think he is a capable point man. His performances haven't been from the end of the rainbow but jesus.

i agree but what if we dont get a superstar in 2010, even though its hard seeing we have no where close to the cap room required but if we do were the knicks so we might land one....but i just dont want us putting all our hopes in 2010..if you can get a superstar in the off-season or at the deadline why not?

Fact is...we aint winning anything without a superstar so 2010 happening is our best shot unless we pull off a crazy trade. That said Marbury playing has no bearing on 2010. In fact it hurts because he would potentially take playing time away from one of our young guns stiffiling their progress.

Either way...if we are going to be a medicore team why play an overpaid aging player instead of developing our young talent. I don't think even the most ardent Marbury fanatic will claim if he eneters the line up we are a championship team. After all, isn't that the goal? If we can agree that winning a title is our goal please explain where Marbury fits in to that plan?

Could Marbury help a contender? Sure. Because he'd be a 6th or 7th man, maybe a starting PG if that contender's PG gets injured. Fact of the matter is, he is not worth what was put into him and he's better off somewhere else than on this team.
