<!-- T11105708 --><!-- Sesame Modified: 11/14/2008 12:24:04 --><!-- sversion: 3 $Updated: lylec$ -->NEW YORK -- Knicks rookie Danilo Gallinari received another cortisone shot for his ailing back and will have an "extended period of rest" while seeking additional opinions on treatment.
Gallinari met with two specialists Thursday and received the shot. He will get more opinions in the next few weeks on his "long-term management options," the Knicks said Friday.
The forward from Italy has struggled to get on the floor since the Knicks took him with the No. 6 pick in the draft. He injured the back in his first summer league game and didn't appear in any preseason games.
Gallinari briefly appeared in the first two regular-season contests before the pain flared up again.

This has been a true disappointment thus far, especially when you see other rookies having immediate impacts on other teams. I hope he just takes his time getting back and shows us something...

If he can come back and wind up being a good player then your statement is has no value. Danillo is said to have more upside then most guys that were picked after him. He is 20 years old with great potential...no on expects him to make a huge impact so early.
