Ya I listen to Jeru and Gangstar mainly for Dj Premier.

At this point i don't even listen to lyrics anymore, i just check out beats from producers. My friends from home rap, and are opening for KRS-One in New Haven. Seeing how most of their rhymes are funny but pretty stupid in the grand scheme of things i just don't care anymore. To me it's not that hard to rap and be entertaining, but very hard to write meaningful music. Most of the lyrics came from when we were smoking in a cypher. I'm assuming big time cats do the exact same thing. If you can write music while having smoke sessions, it is barely work....And if you put a club track to it, most likely you can get a lot of money off of it. I can see why artists don't care.

I'm more into bboying now.

Yeah, i like to listen to alot of them single though. Ghostface has some nice stuff, so does RZA. I love U_Gods verse on triumph though.

Anyone listen to 80s Rap. Like Fresh Prince, Whodini, DMC, stuff like that?

I FINALLY Listened to reasonable doubt. Sweet album, def Jigga's best work.

fav track

The songs are circa 1995. He was part of Wu-tang. Its a shame what happened to him, though.

Jay's first album is very close to perfection. My fave on that is "regrets."
