"On the night Jonathan Bender returned to action following a four-year hiatus, scoring nine points and logging 14 minutes in Friday's 95-91 win over the Clippers, Eddy Curry didn't get off the bench, and it isn't sitting well with the center, who has taken a lot of heat over the past two years for not being on the floor.

While Robinson and Curry are close friends and sit together on the bench, their situations are vastly different. The Knicks had hoped Curry would be playing at a high level so they could trade the seven-foot center, while the team re-signed Robinson to a one-year deal, believing he would have a positive impact this season."

Curry is ALREADY complaining about his lack of playing time!

Hey Eddie... when you enter the game, not even a 17-point lead is safe. You look terrible! EVEN BENDER, who missed 4 years, looks better than you right now.

TO BE FAIR to Curry, he's largely ignored while on the court. nobody bothers to feed him in the post, or hit him on the pick-n-roll. SO, if he aint scoring he really can't contribute.

BUT, the NY DAILY NEWS has a good point:

SEND CURRY to the D-League for rehab games (5-7). They do this in MLB, and they should in the NBA.

Curry needs a stint in the D-League ?

By Frank Isola

If Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez can do rehab assignments in the minor leagues, why can't Eddy Curry?

Think about it: Curry isn't helping the Knicks nor himself during his latest comeback. He played less than four minutes in Thursday's loss to the Chicago Bulls and the Knicks were outscored by 13 with Curry on the floor.

Curry hasn't faced live NBA competition in nearly two years and he's not going to find his rhythm and improve his condition playing four and five minutes a night. He should be sent to the D-League for two weeks, play five to seven games and stay on the court for 35 to 40 minutes.

For years, I've felt that the NBA is missing a great opportunity by not encouraging teams to assign players to the D-League to play a few rehab games. It would be good for the D-League and for the injured player. The Rockets should have done this with Tracy McGrady and the Knicks should do it now with Curry.

He's clearly not ready to help the Knicks. I don't know if Curry could help Springfield, the Knicks D-League affiliate, but Springfield could certainly help Curry.

Playing him is deemed useless no matter how many lbs he loses. No one wants his gigantic contract.

It's better we just have him sit all season in hopes he gets so fed up that he jettisons after this season and opts out. He might just do it if he doesn't play at all. He'll get infuriorated after the hard work he's put in all season and just bolt.

Wishful thinking but realistic..

lol @ this article ...though its odd wheneva eddy is farther from the basket in terrible position we pass it to him, but when hes in perfect position near the basket to put the ball in or draw a foul we fall to get it to him...either ways he seems to have lost his baby hook, and even though hes in better shape he still looks slow cause he hasnt played in so long, and damn we lose ALL fluidity with him on the court... we have to hope he can play beta so tht we can trade him, maybe he'll look amazing in the d-league and some team will bite...well if tht gm was high or somethin lol

What an idiotic article by Frank Isola, he doesn't even know the rules of Collective Bargaining Agreement which prohibits players of over 3 year experience participating in the D-League. Eddy Curry has been in the league since 2001.

Darko hasn't gotten off the bench either and has been placed on the inactive list so Curry better just shut his mouth.

The rotation being used now has been working the past 9 games or so. Sorry Curry, you will have to deal with it. Knicks holding teams under 100 points is very nice to see.

I agree, either play him 10 minutes a game or D- League him.

I guess the Knicks fear that he won't play well in the D leauge?> lol

but great idea....

It's like "HEY CURRY, now you know how we feel." We've complained b/c he hasn't played in 2 year. Dude couldn't even keep himself in shape.

SO, what.... he's healthy for 1 week, and now he's upset he doesn't get in the game?

When your stat line reads: 2 points, 4 turnovers, 2 fouls in 6 minutes.... what do you expect?

smh @ the kid in my fantasy league who picked him up and declared him to be a "sleeper" pick....

ohhh give him some minute, he will "kill" some players like he did with rondo, but they won't be able to compete and finally it will be easier to win some games against the hardest opponents. He scares me :boohoo:
