I just wanted to throw this back out in the open.

I asked Walsh whether he' would sacrifice his 2011 cap flexibility to trade for Arenas. His reply: "I?d have to make that decision at that time. But he?s a very good player."

Arenas is eventually going to try to resurrect his career somewhere, and New York -- the Knicks need a point guard -- cannot be dismissed as a possible option.

Team president Ernie Grunfeld isn't ruling out the possibility of voiding the remainder of Arenas' $111 million contract.

Arenas is in the second year of a six-year deal, and any attempt to cancel the remainder of the contract would meet with stiff opposition from the players' union.

Sprewell all over again?

Take on Arenas to get Blatche and hope things work out with El Hibachi?

If his contract is voided is he worth a sniff?

Get him to shoot Dolan?

I just don't know anymore?

Lol.

I'd actually be all for this if we got Blatche for taking on Arenas. Thats a potential all-star duo in itself. That could help ease the pain if we strike out this off-season and end up with one max guy like Amare or Joe Johnson and bring back T-Mac

PG-Arenas
SG-T-Mac
SF- Chandler
PF- Gallo
C- Blatche

looks decent enough to me for a strike out...

Arenas would be a great conciliation prize if we strike out on all the other max guys. He would be even better with a voided contract. He is good but not worth that type of contract...especially approaching 29 years of age.

His contract is not getting voided afaik, and that contract just sets us up for more years of mediocrity.

Gilbert Arenas can still play. He averaged 22.6 points and 7.2 assists before the gun incident. His season high this year was 45 points. I would be happy if he came to New York.

Winning championships isn't everything. Arenas has the ability to help the Knicks make the playoffs. Considering that the Knicks haven't made the playoffs since 2004, making the playoffs should be their #1 priority.

I've always liked Arenas style of play. He played with a chip on his shoulder day in and day out. When he comes back, I wouldn't mind signing him for a one year contract as long as we have space for him on the team(i.e. we don't sign who we want and there's money left over.)
