I'm just throwing this out there as an example trade idea. So many posters have gone against 'selling the farm', as it's so often put in Melo threads.

It's by no means a suggestion - let's get that clear - as much as it is a gauge of opinion.

How much do you value 'the farm'? How much do you want Melo?

In a salary applicable trade, Washington sends:

Arenas and McGee. McGee being the bargaining chip.

Knicks Exchange:

Curry, Randolph, Rautins:barf: and Turiaf.

Save the farm. Get a SG (an enormous gamble with possible high reward). Get an up and coming center.

Trade Azubuike for first round pick.

Keep:

Douglas, Gallo, Chandler, The Gov, Fields, Walker.

Lose:

4 years of any cap flexibility. Any chance at Melo. 5 years off your life stressing about injuries to The Hibachi and STAT.

Starting 5:

Felton
Man who shits in shoes
Gallo/Chandler
STAT
McGee

Bench 5:

Douglas
Fields/Walker
Chandler/Gallo
Chandler/Williams
The Gov/Somebody

That's a good team.

Would I do the trade? **** NO! But I'm very bored and it's something to talk about on my favourite internet site.

I would love to see Agent 0 (or 9 now) in NY uniform !!
If he can handle the pressure (mhhh...) and be back as the Hibachi, he will fire up MSG :alert:

This a awful Idea. Why dont we just bring back Starbury?

I dont want a disgrunteled aging PG with a massive contract on my team!

Melo would be worth it because hes a NBA Superstar who we could build around along with STAT, and Gallo if he isnt traded.

Losing 4 years of cap flexibility on behalf of Arenas is a deal breaker to me.

He's aging, injury riddled, and charachter riddled.

Maybe if we ALREADY had Melo we do something like this to gamble and push us over the top.

We are still in the heart of building up mode. This deal would be similiar to some of Isiahs:

A big gamble that even if it works to some degree will leave us as a middling maybe playoff team with a lameass future.

IMO, hypothetically, the Spurs should do something like this. (Not that they even can fiscally)

Mcgee doesn't sound too bad, he brings a good defensive presence under the glass; as for ol' Gilbert, I don't think he'll get past the metal detectors...so no deal.
