FA Poll: I wanna know what KOL is thinking.

Crazy⑧s

Evacuee
I've excluded LBJ and DWade from this poll because I'm adamant about the fact that neither will come to NY.

Who would you prefer as a FA signing in NY's biggest off season since Ewing was drafted?

Lettuce know.

Lowry, as a back up is still filling the 3 main stat lines very tidily. One of the leagues best rebounding PGs. As Clyde loves to say, Lowry's intangible efforts are an invisible statistic.

Trust me, this guy'll be a monster if given the chance.

He is a restricted FA though.

5 - Hill - Curry - Jefferies
4 - Bosh - Hill - Jefferies
3 - Gallo - ? - Chandler - Jefferies
2 - Chandler - Toney D - N8
1 - Lowry - Toney D - N8

And $6m to spare to round out the roster if we re-sign N8 at $4m again.

Going in to the 2011-12 season, with Jefferies and Curry the fat slut finally gone, there'll be an extra $17m approx to really cap off a rebuild of the Knicks.

It's amazingly flawed because there are only 8 players with $6m to spare. But that in itself is very telling of how much of a pickle we are in.

And there's no Lee. Bosh > Lee.

None of thee above...

None of those players are really worth building your franchise around. If we can't get Lebron or Wade we need to resign Lee and make minor tweaks in preparation for additional cap relief in 2011.

Trillion's 2011 Lineup if we fail to get Lebron or Wade:

PG- draft or trade (maybe Brooks, Stuckey or Lowry)
SG- Rudy Fernandez
SF- Durant/Gallo
PF- Lee
C- M. Gasol

I think you can build a solid core around Lee, Durant, Gasol and Fernandez. You get Gallo of the bench as 6th man knocking down shots and spreading the floor. IMO that is the best of the rest and can actually get done.

Rudy Gay's not to be sneezed at, but how deflating would it be after all the ****ing hype to have him be the FA signing.

BTW, NY is not going to go through a drawn out rebuilding process. The city has that need to be instantly gratified. Even this season is a purgatory that the Apple can't sit through let alone continue to do so for 2-3 years.

Call me crazy, but if we don't get a superstar...I'd be cool with Felton, Scola and Rudy Gay...That'd give us

PG - Felton/Douglas
SG - Rudy Gay/Wilson Chandler
SF - Gallinari/Wilson Chandler
PF - David Lee/Jordan Hill
C - Luis Scola/Jared Jefferies/Eddy Curry

Perhaps unrealistic, but I think that gives us a good rebounding core, we can rotate Gay/Chandler/Gallo on the floor for 2 spots, consistently giving us a good scorer. I also think that none of those guys will get a max contract, which could enable us to actually make the move.

I can hold out for another year for that.

That's not crazy at all.... I'd be down with that as well.

If you measure the likelihood of that against James signing, a team like that is a lot more likely and not such a horrific alternate.

Why does everybody assume Lee will just resign with us if we don't get anybody this summer?

I'm not so sure he would want to suffer another year of losing in New York when he will get a serious offer from OKC.

And I like Rudy Gay, but he is not a SG. Sorry. He's another SF. We already have 2 of those.

Lee has always stated he loves NY and wants to remain a Knick. He also sees what we all see...massive cap relief in 2011. Is it a lock? nah but I think Lee will remain a KNick.

the knicks are a joke in the city apart from being a joke around the country, there is no easy way out of this predicament, but the best way would be to get as much young talent as possible and hope they turn into something special.i say no james, get a lotto pick(perry jones) and wait for melo.one guy that would really like to get this year is aldrich he's going to be a brook lopez type but is a better defender.if we can sign and trade lee and chandler for aldrich that needs to get done.

and that team is a championship caliber team.we just got to wait.i can wait, i just can sit through all this bullshit without saying anything.

Call me crazy, but if we don't get a superstar...I'd be cool with Felton, Scola and Rudy Gay...That'd give us

PG - Felton/Douglas
SG - Rudy Gay/Wilson Chandler
SF - Gallinari/Wilson Chandler
PF - David Lee/Jordan Hill
C - Luis Scola/Jared Jefferies/Eddy Curry

Perhaps unrealistic, but I think that gives us a good rebounding core, we can rotate Gay/Chandler/Gallo on the floor for 2 spots, consistently giving us a good scorer. I also think that none of those guys will get a max contract, which could enable us to actually make the move.
that's not a bad team, but that doesn't scream championship to me. we all want the same thing, a championship.

The same mentality that makes Lee a "must keep" is the same one that will lead to our continued failure. We cannot win by over-valuing David Lee types. Over paid- under performer types just set franchises back. Lee (like Duhon) can do everything except what we need him to do. Stop the homerism and move on. If you're a big and can't play Defense, your worthless period.
We will never win with a Lee, Duhon- can get us over mentality. They are the proverbial "trees" stopping some from seeing the forest! While the incompetent Knicks value and try to appease the Lees of the world- real (smart) teams don't think twice about over paying this guy. Butts in the seats matter to small market teams, winning matters to real contenders.
David Lee is not a winner, nor has what it takes to win. Although he has what it takes to outprice himself off contending teams and get his payday with a desperate team- oops that may be us....smh!

This is nonsense...Lee is a budding all-star and playing out of position. Will he ever be an elite defender? Probably not but he is an elite rebounder, plays with intensity, can finish with both hands and only now developed a consistent mid-range jumper that is taking his game to another level. He shoots a high percentage and is not turnover prone. There are like 5 dudes in the NBA at any given time that can put 20 and 10 up on average and Lee is one of them. He is doing this with the worst starting PG in the league and out of position. He leads the league in assists for centers so his passing is also way above average. Diminishing his entire game because he can't defend bigger, stronger centers is wrong. Further, no one is claiming we should give him a max deal or that we must sign him above all other players.

Lee's game has only one weakness...D. That weakness is magnified because he is a PF playing center.

Not that I'd want him anywhere other than the Sixers because of his legacy there, the Knicks could use Iverson as PG if they can't get one otherwise. He's shown this season he's down with passing the ball.We wouldn't pay him that much, and it could help us land a FA.

I don't think we get LeBron or D-Wade. Walsh should get what he can and then use them midway thru the season in a trade for Chris Paul. Hornets can't afford a max contract but we can. Then in 2011 we should make a run for 'Melo or Kevin Durant.

I think the Knicks will end up getting Ben Wallace, Adam Morrison, and
Tracy McGrady in 2010.

2010 Knick Starting Lineup
PG Duhon
SG McGrady
SF Chandler
PF Gallinari
C Lee

Bench: PG Douglas, SG Morrison, SF/PF/C Jeffries, PF Hill, PF/C Wallace
Inactive: Eddy Curry
Knicks will get rid of Nate Robinson and Al Harrington.

If we don't get Lebron, we should try to get a star PG. Maybe Chris Paul. Or try to get Ricky Rubio's rights from the Wolves. Man, I really want to get Lebron, but as more Knick games (losing) come to pass, I'm becoming less excited at our chance to get Lebron.

The only chance of us of getting Lebron is if the Cavs get embarrassed at the playoffs again. And Walsh must make moves now to show Lebron that the Knicks will be a great team in 2010-2011 season so he considers signing w/ us. Sign Lee! Get rid of Jeffries and Curry! Get draft picks! Play Jordan Hill and Toney Douglas! Acquire a defnse minded center! ANYTHING GOOD! Walsh is doing nothing.....

Wow, common sense is finally returning to KO.COM. Post of the year as far as I'm concerned. If the Knicks are ever going to get better, we must identify the keepers and establish a core to build around. I think Lee and Chandler are keepers. I am so tired of seeing our castoffs florish for other teams. We let guys go because of so-called "flaws," yet other teams see past those flaws and turn those guys into productive players. This years playoffs will be full of Knick castoffs from the last 3 years. Imagine if we had held onto half that talent built a team. We wouldn't be so worried about what free-agent we could grab this summer.

IF WE ONLY HAD A DEFENSE MINDED COACH, WE'D BE A BETTER TEAM!

Dantoni sucks simple and plain!

Wilson Chandler, Jordan Hill, Toney Douglas, Jared Jeffires, Lary Hughes WOULD SHUT DOWN TEAMS if our coach was big on defense!!!!!!!! Tell me I'm wrong......
