Sorry to spoil the party — Lakers have no plans to trade for ‘Melo

We went over the ways we didn’t think it made sense for the Lakers to trade for Carmelo Anthony — they take on much more salary and give up their defensive anchor when the team needs to focus on getting stops.
Now, multiple reports from guys close to the team say no, the Lakers have no interest. We’ll let Kevin Ding from the Orange County Register explain.
The Lakers do not intend to trade Bynum, at 23 their one youthful building block for the future and still coveted by Lakers vice president Jim Buss despite chronic knee problems. The organization’s basketball decisions are increasingly being made by Buss on behalf of his father, Lakers owner Jerry Buss.
The Lakers have had previous Anthony-related discussions, but not only are the Lakers resistant to trading Bynum, they have no intention of adding a salary such as Anthony’s. He would average more than $20 million per season in his extension if acquired and signed, and the Lakers already are uneasy that their league-high payroll is bloated now and into the future.
Also, apparently the Nuggets asked about Pau Gasol for Anthony as well, but the Lakers said no once they caught their breath from laughing so hard.
Most likely, leaking this could be the Nuggets trying to get themselves leverage in talks with the Knicks. But the Lakers are not playing that game. They are thinking title and thinking Bynum.

Who could Carmelo replace on the Lakers to help the Lakers win the WCF,
and then beat Boston in the Finals?

PG-Fisher? Hell No!
SG-Kobe? HELL NO!
SF-Artest? hell no!
PF-Gasol? HELL NO!
C-Bynum? Hell No!
6th-Odom? HELL NO!

I love your consistency

never have a met a person in face to face interaction nor forum alike, who was as consistently nonsensical in his assinine commentary as the aforementioned.

Youre saying that Fisher, Odom, & Artest are better than MELO

by the way, lets compare fisher, odom, and artest to say fields, chandler, gallo.

if thats the case, we shouldnt trade chandler or gallo or fields for MElo either.

because in terms of future prognosis and current ability, I would take the latter three over the former in any trade.

theres a guy on twitter named IncarcaratedBob. he recently protected his tweets so only his approved followers can see him. he gets LEGIT breaking news well before BSPN gets it and he said himself this morning that the lakers dont intend on trading for him...one reason i assume was spurred by his own logic was that they traded somebody yesterday purely for salary reasons which shows they wouldnt wanna take on melos salary

Obviously that's not a definitive answer in either direction, but a comment like this may help raise Denver management's hopes of keeping Carmelo in town. It's worth noting that Carmelo's quote comes after a Denver Post report earlier on Wednesday saying that there's a "better-than-average" chance that he won't be traded this season.
