Mitchell Robinson "MitchRob" Thread

Mitchell Robinson "MitchRob" are performing in his rookie season as a Future Knick KEEPER !!!

The Knicks has MitchRob locked up for less than $5M total over the next three years, he has a chance to be one of the most valuable trade chips in the NBA over the off-season. I want to keep MitchRob for several years on the Knicks, but his play of late could actually make him the centerpiece in a trade for a star (The AD trade!).
The first time MitchRob received 30 minute of playing time he added 15 pts, 14 rb, 1 ast, and 5 blockshots to a 130-118 Knicks WIN!

This season MitchRob is tied for third in the league in blocks at 2.1 per game. All while playing only 18 minutes per game ..
I believe MitchRob has shown the most potential of our young-core group and should not be involved in any trade.
We need to keep our low cost young-core guys (Frank/Dotson/DSJ/Knox/MitchRob) by not involving them into any trades, so we could round out 1 max free agent player (Durant), then sign vets to minimum deals (DJ/Vonleh/Beverley/???).
Plus Can you imagine the chance of the Knicks getting Zion in the draft, and having a young trio lineup of MitchRob, Zion, and SF Knox for the next four seasons.

It?s unbelievable that we got MRob with the 36th pick. He should have been a top 10 pick. He is raw and already a game changer. The sky is the limit for him. Someone mentioned Marcus Camby in another thread. We traded Camby for Antonio McDyess. We trade MRob for anyone, even AD, we are nuts given the difference in salary of 25+ million over the next few years.

If Perry does make a deal for AD, he's a no brain player that will go in the package for AD. Great selection by Perry who I've said was a good hire by Mills, Perry has arguably turned around that Knicks front office after Mills gaffes of overpaying for both THJ and Ron Baker.

We acquired Mitchell Robinson with the 36th pick obtained in the Melo trade. If he ll becomes an All-Star or makes an all defensive team we can ironically thank Melo for him.

MitchRob has become # 4 on ROY Ladder !!!

The Knicks’ rookie has turned into quite the sensation, capturing the hearts of fans at Madison Square Garden. The Knicks won back-to-back games this week, and Robinson was a major factor in both victories. In the Knicks’ against San Antonio on Sunday, Robinson put up 15 points, 14 rebounds and five blocks to help New York snap an 18-game home losing streak. Two nights later, the 7-foot-1 center had 17 points, 14 rebounds, six blocks and three steals in New York’s comeback win vs. Orlando. Robinson became the third rookie in the last 25 years to tally a double-double with at least five blocks in back-to-back games. The other two? Hall of Famer Yao Ming and future Hall of Famer Tim Duncan. The two wins brought attention to the energetic rookie, but he’s been solid all month (10.9 ppg, 8.9 rpg, 3.3 bpg in 22.6 mpg off the bench).
