Perhaps the NY Knicks' most rewarding selection as late as pick 17 as it's had in its colorful history. Heads have been turned throughout the basketball world as Iman has carved his name in to the mind's of analysts and offensive opponents alike with that ridgeback's sense of defense.

For a rookie, to have an entire army of Knick fans relying on you as their best back-court defender is a harrowing prospect. Shump, however, has shown that he has nerves of steel when the pressure mounts, and, as it is said, pressure makes diamonds.
Shine for us, Iman.

The Ultimate Test

Shumpert's carved his niche and notoriety by aggressively, possessively going after the ball and his man defensively. Equipped with strength, lateral movement, a fine sense of anticipation, quickness and those long arms, this battle of Neophyte VS Finals MVP will be a centerpiece for the series.

Advantage: Wade. How could you say it's not? Stronger, faster, older, more experienced. It's hardly like he's missing any credentials in a head to head with anyone.

Not to discredit Shump for his efforts, but he'll have his hands (and feet) full to the brim against the league's elite transition SG. Shumpert's aggressive style should, hopefully at least, have the benefit of a more lenient whistle in the playoffs, and his man to man tenacity will play a role throughout against the enigmatic Wade.

Verdict: As valiantly as he'll play - and you know he will - Shump's inexperience and outmatching opponent will most likely get the better of him. He'll turn some heads, never you mind, and this will be the first ripple in a tsunami of Shumpert shutdowns as his career progresses.

Unfortunately the refs will make sure Shump won't get a fair chance at defending Wade.

Be prepared for whistle after whistle whenever Shump gets anywhere near Wade. It has always been like that with the cheating bastard Wade. Remember the 2006 Finals? Ridiculous bullshit by the refs, it'll happen again this year.

They'll make sure Shump won't be on the court much and Wade will have a field day thanks to the refs and the league.

I'd say Shump could make life very tough for Wade in a streetball game, but in the NBA he won't even get the chance to do so.

Games 1 and 2 are already fixed, just like last year. Remember the games in Boston? We had them, but the refs made sure it won't happen.
History repeating....:barf:

If Wade is not 100% healthy Shump can make things really hard for him, I don't expect Wade to get shut down but I don't think he'll go off and have an amazing series on Shumpert.

I do not want ROOOKIE Shump as a STARTER in the series vs Miami!

Our 2nd unit of "Shump, JR, and Novak" are very important in this series to steal a game in Miami.
Landry Fields all-around performance have to be our starting-SG (reason later).
We are going to need Shump & JR to step up their level as a combo-guard tandem in the 2nd half of each game with Fields switching to our defensive SF in this series. Our SG can not use the same strategy for both half in any game vs Miami.

The Miami Heat has the top point-foward (SF/SG/PG) in the league in Lebron James, they also have the top combo-guard (SG/PG) in the league.
The two superstar experience, speed, and quick first step has an instint to smell out all the things a rookie or 2nd season oponent lacks in NBA ball.
Its easy for the Heats two superstars to get rookie Shump into early foul trouble as a starter the first 6 minutes of a game to take away Shumps confidence (u can add veteran JR Smith too).
It was easy to see how Lebron & Wade control the tempo for 48 minutes in 60% of their games the past two seasons from the PG/SG position.

Your wish has been granted Kiyaman!

I hope you're happy now. Poor Shump

Now watch Landry Fields getting prison-raped by the much faster and much more agressive Wade....

u got it all wrong....we need at least 3 or 4 guys off of our bench that co-exist together in a lineup for this series, or any series for the WIN.

Our best 3 bench players that co-exist well are "Shump, JR, and Novak", that's a trio of bench-players with Melo or Tyson in their lineup has not only match oponents scoring, but they out-scored oponents for the win the past two months.

Without Shump in the rotation Fields will be asked to perform a 33 minute role
his second season skills has not been prepared for in a series vs Miami.
Throughout the regular season and playoffs Landry Fields were suppose to be our (24 minute per game) startin SG....Landry Fields became our starting Thabo Sefolosha, and our bench tandem Shump & JR Smith became our 6th-man Harden or Terry....we had (past tense) two 6th-men Shump/JR we could bring in at the same time to upset oponents.
