James White > Landry Fields

They both suck and James White isn't gonna get enough playing time to even judge.

But honestly I know a lot of you are on Fields because he's done terrible ever since Melo came but as bad as he is he's better than White.

Not even.

Fields doesn't even make the 15 man roster on the Knicks.
Stop remember rookie pre-Melo Fields.
Fields as finished as Amar'e, despite his age.
He moves terrible with and without the ball.
Seems like he doesn't even work out anymore.
Foot work and foot speed is sluggish, not springy.

As little playing time as white might get he might actually outscore Landry this year. Serves the raptors right for trying to play with our roster money and keeping us out of the Steve Nash party.

I do think that Landry will be an effective player eventually but not in time for the raptors to be relevant this year.

Landry Fields skills and IQ are much better than u and others give him credit for ..
For two seasons Fields has been underratted & underpaid as a great multi-position role-player .. now that he is over-paid on a underachieving team u and others want to bash Fields for not being a 20 point scorer, or a 3 point shooter .. when Landry Fields skills lies in so many areas other than scoring like pressure-defense, boxing-out, rebounding, setting screens, passing on fastbreaks, cutting to basket, steals, and Stops. So what he's not a jump-shooter.

I pity the fool who actually believe Brewer & JR.Smith all-around skills & IQ are better than a 3rd season G/F-Landry Fields .. the only thing Brewer & JR have over Fields is having more seasons of experience of getting diss-respected on court by Kobe, D.Wade, Brandon Roy, Ray Allen, Pierce, Ginobli, Joe Johnson, Terry, Stackhouse, and T-Mac .. hopefully this season Jason Kidd will help Brewer & JR decision-making become team-players rather than their career of athleticism stay as "one on one" players.

No, I give the right amount of credit. He's just not that good a basketball player. Why don't you head on over to NBA.com or ESPN and post his stats for us... and then defend what you see.

Smith and Brewer are playing more defense now than Fields has ever played when he was here. Also, please don't compare Smith and Fields because that's just insulting. Smith comes off the bench and Fields is a starter. Please go to NBA.com or ESPN and post their stats for us... and then defend what you see.

Brewer is a much smarter player than Fields in my opinion. He's also a far better defender. Brewer has always been known as a high IQ type with defense and intangibles. You're saying 3 years of Fields has surpassed that?

First off... Brewer is definitely > Fields
has the hustle of Fields plus more athletic not to mention that he actually has a corner 3 shot now.

I'll give Landry the benefit of the doubt vs White. Something had to be pretty bad with his injury to make him into such a terrible shooter.....

Remember Fields used to have the highest 3pt % in 4th quarters? He really really needs that shot to keep defenders honest or he doesn't deserve playing time. You can't cut to the basket if defenders sag off you so much.

He is definitely overpaid though! F**K Toronto for trying to screw us out of Nash! They're the ones that look dumb as hell now.

What Fields put out on the court does not come out in stats, thats why he was a late 2nd round pick ..
u know little about JR.Smith in N.O. and Denver, give credit to AI for helping JR.Smith erratic inconsistent performance, when AI was traded, JR.Smith inconsistency return making Billups want Affallo to get more playingtime than JR.
u know little about rookie Brewer & 2nd season Deron Williams on the Jazz being tutored by Derek Fisher for one season .. Sloan had Brewer traded in the middle of Brewers 3rd season for to many inconsistency, plus Deron kept using Brewer and other teammates as scape-goat as if Sloan was blind.

Be Happy we got Jason Kidd strong leadership in the lockerroom and on the court to give JR & Brewer pointers on team-chemistry.

Copeland and White sent to D-League?

"The New York Knicks have reassigned Chris Copeland and James White to the Erie BayHawks, the Knicks? NBA Development League affiliate. Copeland joins the BayHawks having played in 15 games for the Knicks this season, averaging 5.9 points and 9.0 minutes.
White has appeared in 19 games for the Knicks this season, averaging 1.7 points and 6.3 minutes."

They've been sent to the BayHawks for practice purposes, will be back with the Knicks for the Bulls game. At least that's what coach Woodson said.

For what one practice? Seems kind of strange.

Or is this going to be a regular occurrence when our players aren't getting many minutes or coming back from injury?

Woody said Cope and White are both "young" players and they need as much practice as possible. With the Knicks having some very limited practice time as of late it's a great opportunity for both guys to get on the court since the BayHawks run the same system.

"Today's another joint Knicks/BayHawks practice in Westchester. As was the case Tuesday, the Knicks have given the Erie bros a court at the practice facility and sent Amar'e Stoudemire, James White, and Chris Copeland over there to scrimmage with them. It's the same deal as it was earlier in the week: all three guys are "assigned" to the BayHawks (White and Cope technically had to be "re-assigned", since they were on New York's active roster last night), but none are expected to actually play for Erie. It's just another chance for Stoudemire to test his knee in some full-court run and for White and Cope to do the same while giving Amar'e some extra support/competition."

it's a good move, especially since STAT is playing with the squad.

However, when STAT and SHUMP come back, and Gumby's healthy, someone's gonna be
getting a hella lotta DNP's, most likely Cope and White, unless Cope continues to prove
his worth as a rotation player.

I think it's a good move. We can only dress twelve players and you're not gonna get any better by just watching.. Ask Renaldo Balkman. :boohoo:

They assigned Lin and Jordan to the D-League last year both of them were back within a couple of days. The Bayhawks only have 11 guys on the roster, that's barely enough to field 2 teams for a full scrimmage, sending a couple of NBA players down there allows them to have 5 on 5s with Amare going against some guys that can play rather than scrubs.
