Game Thread Knicks vs Lakers #49th Game

Today's NBA have to be WEAK .... A 40-yr old player Lebron James have average 35 minutes per game in 43 games this season to lead the Lakers to a 27-19 record.
Scoring 15 pts in the first quarter.

Half Time .... Knicks 54 - Lakers 59 (Without AD)

Knicks shooting 44% FG (22-49), and 31% from 3's (5-16)
OG 10 pts .. Only Knicks scoring in double digits
The Lakers 53% FG have 4 players scoring in double-digits

Josh Hart's Buzzer-beater 3 ball at
The End of the Third Quarter .. Knicks 89 - Lakers 91

The best team 4th quarter performance will WIN the Game
Go Knicks !!!

Who is these Lakers bench-players .. Dorian Finney-Smith, Gabe Vincent, and Jarred Vanderbilt their team-defense, and transition performance controlled the 2nd half for a Lakers win.

We only had two bench-players (Precious 15 pts/Deuce 12 pts) in tonight's rotation, even after missing Starter OG to injury in the 2nd half of the Game.
Payne 6 minutes, and Shamet 9 minutes was useless on both sides of the court receiving spot minutes here/there tonight.
Rookie Kolec and Sims belong in the Knicks Game rotation throughout the midseason.

How was the Lebron-Lakers Defense tonight?
Brunson 6-15 attempts for 15 pts, 7 Dimes, 5 turnovers.
KAT 3-11 attempts for 11 pts, 4 reb.

Didn’t see the game but read about the Lakers/ Maverick trade.

Nobody won for the future with that trade. Davis is too old for future success. The only good thing for the Mav’s is they have Kyrie.

Luka is a defensive liability and offense killer. This I have been saying about him for a very long time. The Lakers will come to know it.

The Unexpected ....

The Luka Doncic for Anthony Davis trade

Winners, losers, what's next

The Dallas Mavericks and Los Angeles Lakers stunned the NBA overnight Saturday with a swap of All-Stars that has massive implications for this season and beyond.

A year after leading the NBA in scoring and finishing third in MVP voting en route to his first NBA Finals appearance, Luka Doncic is headed to the Lakers as their next superstar. In exchange, Dallas acquired All-Star center Anthony Davis, the Lakers' leader in points, rebounds and blocks per game, as well as promising guard Max Christie and the Lakers' 2029 first-round pick.

Because of the NBA's salary cap rules, the trade also required the Utah Jazz as a third team, which acquired guard Jalen Hood-Schifino from the Lakers and 2025 second-round picks from the Clippers and Mavs.

Will Lakers try to trade for Mitch Robinson while in NY for a couple days?
Will Mavs make another trade before Feb. deadline?
Where will Butler or Fox destination be both wanting to be traded?

fox to the spurs.......

lakers will go after Robinson........thats a good fit. but we might as well keep him......thibs will only play 7 guys anyway

MRob doesn’t move the needle for any team. He’s not that type of player. A player that doesn’t have a jumper or shot a jump shot in a game.
The Knicks have done a disservice to MRob for helping him to develop( like bringing in Garnett to Tudor him).
Saw a film the other day about the Knicks failure to develop their young players. They started in 2017 to the present. It talks about the inability to get Zion in the draft and having to settle on a far less talented player at #3.
Saying that in hindsight that not getting Zion was very good for organization.
