The New York Knicks are waiving guard Landry Shamet, sources told ESPN on Saturday.
The move comes days after Shamet, 27, dislocated his right shoulder trying to make a defensive play in a preseason game Tuesday. He's hoping to be able to rehab the injury without needing to have surgery.
Before the injury, Shamet -- who was averaging 10.8 points in 22 minutes per game in the preseason and has shot 38.4% from three over his six-year career -- was a sure thing to make the Knicks' roster.

New York Knicks big man Precious Achiuwa has suffered a strained left hamstring and will be reevaluated in two to four weeks, the team announced Sunday.
It's unclear when Achiuwa, who has played in all five of the Knicks' preseason games, injured the hamstring.
The Knicks are already without center Mitchell Robinson to start the season as he rehabs from two ankle procedures over the past year.
With center Isaiah Hartenstein departing in free agency, newly acquired Karl-Anthony Towns and Jericho Sims will be the only healthy centers on guaranteed deals left on New York's roster when they open the regular season Tuesday against the Boston Celtics.

Achiuwa is out for 2-4 weeks.
GS just waived Kevin Knox…..
Let right the injustice and bring him back since Achiuwa is out.
 
First game and I know it early.
Getting Bridges instead of Murray.
Not having a true PF.
I like KAT.
I have doubts about Brunson with KAT.

No! I'm not blaming anything on Josh Hart.
But, I do believe we need a new head coach!

Yeah, I think it's time we get a new head coach, who could do much better against the Celtics at halftime.

I would not argue if Tibbs take Josh Hart out of the Starter lineup for Jericho Sims in the next game vs Pacers.
To work on getting a co-existing tandem of KAT & Sims on offense/defense the next 15 to 20 games.

Six minutes reman in Game the score 130-98 Celtics lead, the Celtics putting all their garbage-time players in the game, after hitting 29 3's tonight. Well, we didn't let the Celtics hit their 30th 3 ball shot in the final 6 min.
Well, the champion Boston Celtics made a statement in their opening night game vs Knicks, 132-109

Last season, our first game vs Boston Celtics was a close loss 104-108
This season, our first game we didn't try to compete throughout the 48 min.
I don't like Josh Hart in the starter lineup. It should be Hart, Kolec, McBride, Dadiet, HukPorti off the bench in a lineup.
I don't like OG at the PF position. OG is a natural winning SF.
I don't like KAT at the center position. Don't believe the media hype or Knicks management mishap of KAT being a NBA center, he's not. As a NBA center for 7 seasons on the Wolves KAT never made it pass the first round of the playoffs. Players like KAT, Giannis, Anthony Davis, and Durant are all 7 footers having athletic talent to perform best at the PF position.
I don't like Brunson having (only) 2 assist after playing more than 20 min.
I wanted head coach Tibbs fired in our past 3 offseasons.
 
I think we were good on offence, but we were horrible on Defense, and of course, the Celtics couldn't miss a 3pt shot..... it will take time to gel.... Hart is out of position the whole preseason and this game.... OG looked better in preseason...... let's kick the Pacers butt

I don't know, all preseason we been playing so many Knicks players out of their original position.
After last night Knicks game my expectation on a 50 win Knicks season went down to a struggling 40 win season.
Brunson is a shoot-first Iso-SG, not a PG.
Mikal is a natural SF.
OG is a natural SF, not a PF.
KAT is a natural PF, not a Center.
And no one knew Josh Hart's original position when he was on the Lakers, or Pelicans, or Blazers, and now the Knicks. Hart played well as a forward having Brunson & Donte as the back-court guards in the lineup.
The Celtics prove Hart's not the guard to use vs them on offense/defense last night.
The Knicks showed NO perimeter defense in the 2nd half, after the Celtics hit 17 3's in the first half of the game.
The Celtics hit 29 3's in the game.
The Knicks team on offense had no ball-movement, compared to the Celtics 3 to 4 touches before the shot.

I think it is too early, it is one game..... but it is a good wake up call, everybody was saying the Knicks are the best team and so on.... let us get a reality check at the start of the season to build on it and adjust..... I can see the team defending better soon.... not sure where to place Hart though..... maybe Payne share more time between the starting 5 and the bench?!
 
Has anyone one of you ever thought about the possibility of signing or trading for Klay Thompson??
My focus has always been on Murray and now Klay.
Just think of the team with a SG like Klay in the Knicks lineup.
Klay would be the only other player I would want instead of Murray.
