The Captain: RIP

He stands for everything I use to like about my team the New York Knicks!!
It’s unfortunate that all the things he stood for and was is all GONE!!
Nothing to cheer for anymore and even less to think about what we use to be.
Was always glad to see him at a Grambling basketball game. He always had time to talk with me about the team both of us loved.
A Great person and a Hellva Player!!

Very sad news, whenever i think about that generation i wonder if they'll ever live to see the Knicks win another championship
You were lucky to get to talk to such a legend..

He was a very special person. Never forget who and what he was and where he came from.
It was special nights when he and Larry Wright would be at the GSU games. He knew I had tough questions for him and wouldn’t shy away from answering them. He knew I didn’t like the direction the Knicks were headed. He would say “hey it’s going to get better”.
Just lost my brother(who is GSU grad) in January and now the Captain. The people I could talk real BB is getting smaller and smaller.
Who understand now ‘What we truly use to be as a team. It truly sad me!!

The Knicks two-champ captain Mr. Big #19 Willis Reed who visited Brooklyn back in the daze when I was 14 yrs old, standing tall as a giant speaking in a scary bass voice told my 15 yr old friend Hanable to take that cigarette out his mouth and stomp on it!" And Hanable did it LOL
RIP Captain Reed !!!

I do recall Willis Reed season as Knicks head-coach developing the team and SF Toby Knight into a star-player, the Knicks needed a PG/SG backcourt that season, rookie Ray Richardson and 2nd season Ray Williams needed that first season together to coexist together. After that season I wanted Willis Reed's player on player coaching as the Knicks longest top assistant head coach for frontcourt star players Bill Cartwright, Toby Knight, Bernard King, Patrick Ewing, and Anthony Mason.

Watching the pre-game made this sadder.

I'll be rooting for the Knicks tonight for the team and especially for you! Go Knicks!

R.I.P., Captain
