The New York Knicks returned last night to the Garden to play their last game of the series against the Bulls whom they’ve just defeated a night ago back in Chicago.
Carmelo Anthony scored 26 points while Kristaps Porzingis had another double-double – his 20th of the season – with 19 points and 10 rebounds to help New York win their first two games in a row since January 20th.
With this win, 106-94, the Knicks win 3-1 the season series with Chicago trying to turn the attention away from what has been the topic these days, a unification of the superbuddies in a smashing big four (LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Chris Paul and Dwyane Wade).
The highlight of the night was Derrick Williams‘ moment. With 7:27 left on the clock, Jose Calderon sent a diagonal alley-oop pass all the way from the Bull’s three point line, Williams caught it in air with both hands near his right ear and jammed it down. Williams finished with 13 points while Arron Afflalo who continues to come off the bench and play big minutes had 11. Calderon contributed with 12 points and 7 assists.
“He’s an amazing passer. We don’t get to practice that much. The practice is in the game.”
– Derrick Williams
The Knicks win their 30th game of the season and will host the Cavaliers on Saturday.
