As The Losses Pile Up...Talks of a Hurt Knee Increase

All Star
NEW YORK -- Knicks star Carmelo Anthony expects to deal with soreness in his left knee for the foreseeable future."It's not going to heal in a week or a couple days or two weeks," he said Sunday.
Anthony believes the soreness is an expected part of his recovery from the knee surgery he underwent last February.

"The process I had is going to take time to heal," he said.

Anthony plans to use his time off during the All-Star break to rest and rehab his knee."We have a game Tuesday, and then we don't play until the following Friday," said Anthony, who plans to play Sunday in the All-Star game. "I want to take advantage of that time."

The 13-year veteran recently had an MRI to rule out any structural damage to his knee. He said Sunday that he has consulted doctors and trainers about the soreness and has been assured the discomfort is "part of the recovery."

But he added that his situation might be different because he is playing 35 minutes per game. Anthony suggested that he might take games off to rest his knee, if necessary. He has missed three of the Knicks' past eight games -- including Friday's loss to Memphis -- due to knee soreness.

After playing in Sunday's loss to the Denver Nuggets, Anthony acknowledged that his shot has been impacted by the knee issue. In his past five games, Anthony has shot 33 percent from the floor.

"I can feel it when I'm out there, as far as the rhythm, mechanically shooting the ball," said Anthony, who went 7-for-19 from the floor in Sunday's 101-96 loss. "It's not aligned for me right now. I got to find that alignment and just keep working at it.

Won't miss the All-Star Game for the world and this time it's not in New York(what's the excuse now?) yet he's still peddling this crap to the masses. The reason he does this because it's his safety net against major criticism and/or he's campaigning for the gullible fan of sympathy and the fan of drinking his cool-aid of strength and courage.

Unfortunately sad to see that this actually works in many cases for him. Since he adapted his game some, it probably has bought him another yr of free passes. Heck although the team hasn't won any game he's missed this yr, they've been fairly competitive without him and often times very competitive when he's off the floor. Why are we playing a gimp another yr 35min/gm? How come we only hear about his pain when we're losing?

So he'll rehab his knee after Tuesday for about 10gms, says it won't go away in 2 weeks and he may be looking to take some nights off, or play less minutes the last 27gms of the season?

I'm expecting a Bombshell rumor(even if most certainly fake) to come out soon just to create some tension and uneasiness concerning this franchise. I also expect him to be shut down middle of March.

I agree 1,000%.

Front office under paranoid Dolan is chalk full lies, falsehoods, innuendo, and deception.

He screwed team this season by delaying surgery to play in last year's all-star game. I wouldn't allow him to play... If he does anything more than start... Play a few minutes.... Then remove himself from the game... That would say all you need to know about this dope.

I would actually shut him down for season... We aren't making the playoffs anyway... So try to get him right for next year.

This would allow KP, Grant, LG, Williams, LT to show us what they are made of... Help them grow a players...

Also, this might prevent this roster from getting exposed... As of now, we might've shown enough this season to attract free agents... Playing a hobbled Melo and losing certainly won't help.
