Oscar Robertson went on The Mike & Mike Show on Thursday and laid down a scathing indictment of NBA defensive strategy when the subject of Curry arose. According to NJ.com's Randy Miller, Robertson believes stopping Curry is simple??just go out there and guard him farther from the basket, ya dumb jamokes.

"If I've got a guy who's great shooting the ball outside, don't you want to extend your defense out a little bit?" Robertson said. "I just don't think coaches today in basketball understand the game of basketball. They don't know anything about defenses. They don't know what people are doing on the court. They talk about analytical basketball and stuff like this."

It look like im not the only one who believe the NBA been milked-down to the level of no strategic defense from 80% of the teams .. WTF! Thibs is no longer a head-coach!
If anyone is old enough to remember a HOT Pistol-Pete Maverick when not defended will score 30+ points
Plus the Portland Blazers defensive backcourt of Lillard n McCollum shut down Curry n Klay to prove perimeter defense works wonders.

I don't think the hand check rules would have affected Curry as much as Westbrook, Harden, guys that depend on that quick first step to get to the rim. Curry's strength is his dead eye shooting and his quick release so he'd be great in any era.

Point is defenses would've done more than hand checking. They would've knocked him to ground multiple times a game and that physical play would've worn his body down... At least make his shot tired come 4th... We'll never know, of course, but there were no flagrant fouls in those days.

Phil Jackson does not like GSW, man he hates them. They are taking the league by storm and erasing part of a legacy he was a part of.

lol we really have an embarrassing situation still at the top.

Yeah Magic sounds like a fool and every yr he D-Rides whatever star is taking over the league. He's so terrible in every way from a far. At the same time Curry is a one of a kind beast. With that said there's no way he'd get away doing today, playing back then during the 80s, 90s....sorry
