This is the kind of ****ing bull shit that ruins players. Give the poor dude a chance before you nail him to the cross.
This is an article by an unknown columnist that went straight for a reactionary topic.
We signed a top 18-20 PG for 2 years. If he fails, he fails.
Good signing, good risk, good times.
Agreed!
He signed a two year deal not a six! I mean in all likelyhood he will do a solid job for us.
A true low risk high reward. If he sucks he's gone, if he plays good we simply resign him!
Is he Nash.... no, is he Duhon.... no. He is some where in between which represents an upgrade for us!
I swear I hate how the media hates on us!
I just don't get it.....he really has all the skills to thrive in this offense. He was coached by a coach who really brings a long PG's and Felton did improve his game while playing for him.
There is more reason to think Felton will break out than there is a potential for a bust.
Maybe I'm over simplifying it....but if Duhon a career 3rd string PG can come in and blossom why wouldnt a career starter do well!?
I mean even if Felton's number don't go up one bit they still would be better than anything Mike D has had in NY. He's a career 13 and 6 and two years were spent under a coach who really grinds it out on offense, meaning he could easily be a 15 and 8 per game player.
In an uptempo system common sense would suggest his numbers would go up.
Last year he shot the ball better from 3 by 10% while hitting just as many (one more in fact) than the year before, his overall FG% went up last year. His scoring went down by 2 pts but he played 4 less minutes.
I mean I know numbers don't tell it all...but this does not seem like a PG who is on the decline.
All we can do is wait and see I suppose.
But I'm really pulling for Felton to prove the doubters wrong 1. because we would be nice if we get could PG play, but another reason is to vindicate our managment.
