I think we should try and pick up a veteran center like Pryzbilla just in case one game Amare or Jeffries fouls out and were short on big men. You never wanna be short on centers. If I was MDA once the team is healthy I'd split I'd have both Novak and Jorts be the back up 4 and choose which one should play based on matchups or something.
I'd have Jeffries be the back up 5 most of the time with Amare playing the 5 occasionally
PF
Amare/Jorts/Novak
C
Chandler/Jeffries/Amare
I think thats a good 5 man rotation in the post since I think all these players deserves to get some minutes.
And I agree with Paul1355 about playing Novak at the 4 when Amare is playing the 5
Noooooooooooooooo lol.Novak should be playing because he us the answer go this question.
Q: If the game is tied or the Knicks are down by 3 in the last 20 seconds who do you want taking the last shot Carmelo Anthony or Steve Novak?
A: Steve Novak

Melo will get the ball most of the time at the end of games. Thats a no brainer and its pretty much already settled. In terms of ability, Melo has a lot more options on what he can do on offense than almost any other player in the league.
I'm a Novak fan also. People forget he's actually getting better and better defensively as well. Getting some important rebounds too.
I also like Baron playing with Novak, he seems to be putting a lot of effort into getting him open.Real Talk....since Allen Houston great peremeter performance Steve Novak is the real-deal....all those wanna-be 3-ball shooters we had in the past decade none match-up to Steve Novak defense, quick movement without the ball, or the many different catch n shoot style from the left/right side of the court.
I already have the "trio" of players who earned their way into this so-call 2nd unit everyone keep mentioning....rookie Shump, Jefferies, annnd Steve Novak, their chemistry is outstanding....I havnt found the next two players in that lineup because of Jeremy Lin & Tyson Chandler fit so damn well in that lineup. Adding another rookie (Jorts or Jordan) to the lineup will mess things up because Dantoni didnt give out playintime to Jorts & Shump, or Jordan & Shump.
Here is the bummer....I see players value increasing game after game for the
rest of the season under headcoach Mike Woodson (5th or 6th seed)....will we
find away to resign Lin, Fields, Novak, Jefferies, and Davis?
I think its almost impossible.....
Davis 100% no......which is ok with me based on injury issues..
Lin and Fields we are allowed over the cap.....
So probably Novak or Jeffries.....tough call....
hopefully we can move TD for some cap release....
U think Melo or Amare will give some back :smokin:
5th or 6th seed at this point would be an astounding turnaround. Knicks would need to go 17-5 the rest of the way to reach to reach the .560 level the 5/6 seed are at right now. Here is the bummer....I see players value increasing game after game for the

I know owner Dolan buys quick into rising stock, the media already sold Dolan
on buying Jeremy Lin, but could Grunwald sell him on the rest of the players?
re-negotiations cannot be done.

If the Knicks are able to do it, they should have fired D'Antoni months ago. But let's not get ahead of ourselves. 2 W's often happen when you get a coaching change. We have the talent for sure to go 17-5 but that hasn't kept us from having 2 six game losing streaks either.
Talk of resigning any of these guys now is moot because the team has underperformed, if the season ends right now, you would reassess and make big changes. Even if the Knicks pull off this turnaround and get the 5/6 seed. Lin has come back to earth and might not command the whole MLE any longer, JJ has not increased his value, still a defensive specialist that can't shoot, Landry has had a poor year shooting the ball and the Knicks could let him go and Novak might deserve a raise but he has always been a 3 pt specialist being paid a vet minimum for his whole career and he's not going to get a 20M/4 year contract from anyone.
5th or 6th......Lets hope we make the playoffs....Right now the Bucks have the easiest schedule of any potential playoff team in the East,,,,,,,,,,,we need teams to lose.......So yes we control alot of our destiny but we are not in full control....we will be so dangerous in the playoffs....
