baron davis to new york???

BARON Davis all day!!!! That guy can play, but he needs a offensive team to make in good as well, I remember when he was on the Hornets he didn't play to good because of the squad around him, plus he was injuried.

Drop you hatred towards Marbury. I dont like the idea of making moves to win now. I would hope donnie would be smart enough to re-sign baron when his contract expires but i already closed this thread anyways, the reports not even true.

Marbury hasnt been able to condition himself properly coming into the past couple of seasons because of heel spurs. Hes gonna come ready to play in November, i think alot of people will be suprised by how well he plays. His contract expires after this year. We should be building for the future, now for right now. Fukk a baron davis.

It's not hate just facts. Even if Marbury is 100% Davis is still a better running the point. You didn't buy that 'I'm the best point guard in the league' statement did you? I wish Marbury the best but this isn't about him, it's about the team and the moves that will make the team as a whole better. In order for the Knicks to win and bring in talented players they have to be a competitive team. That's not something we have been with Marbury, even before the injuries and before the east was even good, we still weren't competitive with this squad.

If we were to keep Marbury his 20 mill would roll off but we would most likely resign him. Why not resign Davis instead? Swap expiring contracts then resign Davis for three or four years, trade Randolph and buy out Jerome James.

Lets assume that this is all talk and has absolutely no truth. Even then our future lies with Mayo not Marbury. The only reason Marbury is still in a Knick uniform is because of his expiring contract.

Let's wait and see. I will bookmark this and give you a reminder in late November, okay?

Why is it that everyone that criticizes Marbury is instantly labeled a Marbury-hater? I dont have Marbury at all. Being a New Yorker, I love the idea of having a guy that's from this city playing for our team. However, its been proven time and time again, especially with the Knicks, that Marbury doesn't help the team. Now that he's into his 30s, he'll start to slow down. He's already had ankle issues, knee issues, and heel issues. One of the great things about Marbury is his explosiveness. Once his legs give way, whats he got left?

Furthermore, to trade Marbury now would be asanine. It doesn't help us. When all the other teams that traded Marbury got better, it was because they got someone else who was better. New Jersey got Kidd, and Phoenix got cap room to sign Nash. At this point, we're not going to get equal value without killing ourselves in the cap. We have to keep him for the time being and either allow his contract to expire or wait for a desperate team to offer us a boatload of picks or younger players at the trade deadline.

I thought Mayo was more of a shooting guard? I never said marbury is a future. Why you bringin up things that i never said? just so you can take more cheap shots at him? Fukk outta here

I think its stupid to compare marbury and davis's passing ability. Marbury proved when he had teammates that he could average more assists then baron davis ever did. You expect him to average more then 6 assists with this current team? These are stats from 06-07, since marbury didnt play much last year

Q Rich-41.8fg%, 37.6% 3PT
Crawford-40fg%, 32% 3PT
Curry-3.64 turnovers per game

How would baron davis do with this group of clowns? How would steve nash do with this group of clowns?

You have to look into marburys teammates for the answer as to why his assists have declined. With all the talent marbury has, theres no doubt about it that he can still run the point just as good if not better then davis. He finally got them heel spurs fixed.

Baron Davis is also more turnover prone then marbury, and marburys a better 3 point shooter. Baron averages over 2 steals but hes not as good of a defender as his stats tell you he is.

None of this even matters, you turned it into davis>>>marbury which isnt a fact. If Davis has a better season then marbury next year I'll give you that.

Im lookin at the long term future. I dont want baron davis here then next 3 years. As he starts to lose his lift all his numbers will decline; shooting percentages, rebounds, and his defense wont be as good. Maybe not 08-09, but probably 09-10 he'll start to slow down. It would be stupid to have him for 5-6 years, im suprised you said that.

Marbury and Baron davis both aint the answer to our future. We gotta look long term, not short term. I dont know who our future point guard is but for now we need to look to let keep short term contracts and draft someone who we KNOW will play defense and offense. That rules out the Italian kid unless he has some real good pre-draft workouts.

None of this matters, theres a chance D'antoni will bring in a bunch of softies and turn us into the raptors/pacers/warriors.

Are you that delusional that you believe Marbury is better than Davis? Do you think Marbury's better than Billups and Paul too? Come on! I understand the argument that we don't need to add to the cap but again, if both players stay with their teams they will both get extensions. You make it sound like Davis will demand 20 mill a year or something. Would his extension be that different than Marbury's? And besides, the black hole is Randolph's contract. If Randolph is moved for the right players trading Marbury wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing. You use stats from nba.com in Marbury's defense but I'm not questioning his 'productivity'. I question his heart and ability to lead the team. I don't hate him but I don't make a bunch of excuses for him ether.

This isn't just a response to you but to every one up here that thinks Marbury's shit don't stank (not stink, stank). When we loose it's because Curry is soft and doesn't play D or Crawford's shot selection, or because Thomas is an idiot or Richardson or even Randolph but if any one says one word about Marbury they become a hater. That's nonsense! Randolph is the best player on the team and every one wants him out. I'll never understand that logic.

your pont guard is supposed to give ur teammates easy baskets...not hold the ball for the entire shot clock and give it to crawford or whoever who is being clothed with defense then is forced to chuck up a bad shot.
marbury is overrated

Baron would be a short-term fix. No thanks...
He depends on his explosiveness, and that wouldn't be so bad, IF he wasn't so injury prone.
Baron would be a huge gamble, and we really don't need it right now. We need to plan carefully for the future.

baron is inury prone? so what about steph? how many full season has he played in the las 4 years?
thats like saying camby is injury prone...yet hasnt had an injury in 3 years

but since it isnt true, dosentmake sense arguing about it...
marbury obviously fucks these guys, cuz i bin absent for a few months, and nothing has changed...the honorable name of starbury cannot be criticized in any manner, no one can offer an opinion about him (unless they talk about how great he is), and no1 can call him names....homo's....i dont even defend my bitches as strong as u cock suckers defend steph....ras clat pussies

Fukk no! i dont think Marbury is better then CP3 and billups, but BAron Davis isnt as good as them either. Marbury and B-Diddy are on the same level off the strength of how marbury played during the 2006-07 season.

I dont know if im the only one that watched in 06-07 but marbury for the first time showed heart and desire to win. He played his heart out, even through injuries. Maybe we didnt win but we didnt do bad considering the roster we had and the injuries we had.

Marbury didnt even play last year, how could he be blamed for us losing? I proved that theres a strong possibility that he left the team because of his baskeball mentors aka Robert williams aka MR. Lou's death. Thats the one thing people held against marbury. They all said he left the team because he didnt want to be a backup. I also proved with stats that Crawford was playin worse then Marbury, both of them are captains, so why didnt crawford also get benched?

I went through all that work a week or 2 ago for people to forget about it already? Am I the only one that watched the 2006-07 season?

Randolph does have the most talent on the team. He just needs to play more defense and be more of a team player. Alot of people want him gone and i can see why, I want him gone myself. But if he can ever figure a couple things out and help his team win.....

Isiah thomas has the smallest playbook in the NBA. Marbury didnt play last year. We still sucked. Baron Davis is overrated.

Its stupid to trade for a player like baron davis and the reports not even true. They need to use their brains as they rebuild the team, but i dont expect them too. Sh!t is fukked up

I have some cartoons for Toons

I'm hoping the Knicks can get both Baron Davis and Allen Iverson without giving them extensions and not send away Stephon Marbury so all three of their contracts can expire next year.

As crazy as that might sound, its completely possiible. The Denver Nuggets were rumored to be after Zach Randolph during the season. At the time, they were looking to give up Linus Kleiza. If we can throw some kind of three way deal together with Golden State and Denver, it can happen.

We can send Randolph to Denver for Iverson, giving them the low-post scorer they can team up with Kenyon Martin. Its not like they play defense anyway, so it would work out for them. We could package maybe Richardson and sacrifice Chandler for Baron Davis and some picks. That'd be a total of 56 million bucks off the cap next season.
