How many slots are still open?
I was going to organize the divisions just wanted to get Metro's say so and what names you guys want to give to them
I'm thinking
Ewing
Frazier
Van Gundy
something like that

I'd also probably bump offensive boards to 2.5 or even 3, as they're so much harder to come by than defensive boards - FT rebounds etc.

I meant I could do an 18 team league.

9 man divisions, would we do 8, 12 or 16 team playoffs then
I'd go top records in each conference, get first round byes. If it's possible to do....It puts a real premium on maintaining total excellence and command of the regular season.
With 12 teams making it, we'd have 6 playoff teams from each conference. Which could work out funky....we need 8 or 4 at some pt to move forward cleanly....
Which is why I would do the two 1st round buys. These top seeds, would then play the lowest seeded team of the 6 in their conference, who advanced to Round 2.
Where we'd have 4 teams in each conference.
This makes sense in terms of letting a nice number of teams taste playoff action, increases the action in the playoffs, puts in some cool plot lines that will develop between the top alphas and the underdog or two who will sneak in, an it also doesn't make it a charity thing, as the true #1 seeds get a very reward for their excellence.
:2cents:
it'd be like top seed in each division makes it then the next 10 best records
Top 4 seeds get buys
other 8 play each other so the bracket looks like
1
vs
8/12
4
vs
5/9
2
vs
7/11
3
vs
6/10
Bingo.
If possible to give the buys out for top seeded dudes, it'd be awesome.
I want to do 4 divisions also.
Hey, I made the stat categories as follows
Field Goals Made - 2 pts
Free Throws Made - 1pt
3pt Shots Made - 2.5pts
Points Scored - 2pts
Off Rebs - 2pts
Def Rebs - 2pts
Assists - 2.5 pts
Steals - 2.5pts
Blocks - 2.5pts
Turnovers - -1pts
Fouls - -1pts
Games play - .5pts
Games Started - .5pts
I didn't include total rebounds, 3pt shots attempted, free throws attempted, field goals attempted.
I did the scoring system like this because it's as balanced as I tried to make it. Favors defensive players, assist guys, help defenders, centers who block shots, 3pt specialist, and offensive guys.
Example statline
Carmelo goes for 25 points = 50pts
8 - 21 FG = 16pts
1-5 3pt shots - 2.5 pts
7 turnovers - -7 pts
0 assist
11 rebounds - 22 pts
1 stl - 2.5pts
1 blk - 2.5 pts
Game played - .5pts
Game started - .5pts
Total stateline of 57.5 (I think, off the head math)
Crazy⑧s;248972 said:Plus the offensive board total bumps it up a bit. Should there be some sort of minimum penalisation for a really poor shooting game? Like a sub 35% outing? I dunno if that's even possible, but if someone goes out there (Kobe) and throws up a 10 for 33 game, then that's just in favour of sheer volume.
How intricate can the stats be?
For example, and I'm sure it's impossible but wanna throw it out there, if a member of your fantasy team hits a game winner.
I'm seriously gonna have to have a thorough go through with all the rules and so forth.
Can we please get a run down, Metro?
we'd have to use FG% as a category then, which makes sense for volume scorers. Kobe will get 40 and take 30 shots so I guess guys get faulted for Kobe's poor shooting night but still benefit from his points total
Crazy⑧s;248983 said:I think that's definitely fair, personally. Especially if someone's putting in 20-30% of a sh*tload of shots and still dropping 25-30 points. Sh*t's lame and lame to watch.
Is it possible to set FG% brackets?
eg: -35% or less FGs equates to a 3 point penalty. -30% or less equates to a 5 point penalty, 25% FGs 7 point deduction and so on.
I can't stand the Paul Pierce's of this world that crank their stats by playing to the refs, either. So if someone like him has a poor shooting night but still gets 20-24 points out of acting and ***** play, penalize them.
All in favor....

There's no FG% category. Sorry guys.
Really? That seems weird... The standard categories for a fantasy league are PTS, REB, AST, STL, BLK, FT%, FG%, 3PM, TO
Didn't we use FGA at -0.5 to make this happen last year? That way you gain 1.5pt for FGM and 2pt for 3PM, plus a few more points for the PTS.
I prefer it that way, giving points for FGM and Points doesn't take into account poor volume shooting at all, doesn't punish you when your player shoots 30%.
I don't know but this scoring seems way different to last year? Maybe I'm wrong though. Would be nice to hear from isayugh what we had last year.
